    Rider loses leg, doesn't notice?

    That's what it says

I don't know where to start with this

Somehow he equates harley-davidson with crotch rocket. If he only knew the truth he'd be really scared.

    Modulating Headlight/Taillight - Opinions?

Modulating headlights are friggin annoying. Maybe the eqivalent of "loud pipes save lives"

    Finally rode with stock screen

I ride with the stock screen always down except in rain and when it's cold. Pop up the screen just a nothch and that blessed FJR heat will warm you up on a cool morn.

    Wally Map

Myself and others have found that the Wally map will rob you of top end power. I replaced the wally map with the "stock" map from dynojet and it worked much better (for me, YMMV).

ST1300 owners first day on an FJR1300

Welcome. Hope you have lots of fun on your FJR. You pretty much summed up the differences as I see them. I test rode both bikes before buying my FJR. The ST is a well built, quality bike but it's kind of a big fat scooterish type thing IMHO.

What Camera Do You Take on a Ride?

Canon SD800IS. Has image stabilization which does come in handy. Also, a cool thing about this camera is it has a 28mm lens which gives a more wide angle shot.

    Bags...?

Much nicer to ride without them barbells back there. I use a cortech sport tail bag for my around-town junk carrying requirements.

    Victory Vision ride

Not my cup o' tea. But it's kinda cool in that it's so damn unique. I mean that is some balls out, off the wall, f*ck 'em all design work right there.

    Sad day

Sad. Didn't he know that there are medications that can compensate for age-related loss of mental capability and/or testicular function?

    Frank has issues

That was my first thought looking at your numbers. (not that I'm a tech or anything...)

    2001 Road Glide Test Ride

Odds of that happening are very small... :P

    The Motorcycle Wave....

Well known behavior of HD riders. Guess they feel they're better Americans than you on their American-made bikes. Then they go home and drive off in their hondas, toyotas or whatever.... i.e. they're mostly posers.

    12 Motorcycle Myths Revealed

No surprises there... except the lane splitting thing. Who woulda thought? :dntknw:

    PCIII vs. Stock

Seems like the guys with the '06's really notice the difference. On my '05 the difference was more subtle. One thing I really noticed was the way the Wally map made my bike "flat" under high acceleration. Both maps smoothed out the vibes at 4100-4500 RPM, but did not totally eliminate them.

    OH YOU PEOPLE!!!

Wow, what a thread. It's a good reminder to keep your head on a swivel and treat every cage as if they have the intention of killing you. That's been my motto for 20 years. My only get off in that time was definitely my fault. I agree though that you can't control everything.

    The FJR can't cruise

Nice try but... no. :glare: I just don't care for most HD riders' attitudes and I don't understand where they get it based on their ride. Guess I don't get the "Harley Mystique". But hey, I respect everyone else on two wheels. Heck, I even wave to scooter riders. B)

    The FJR can't cruise

Well, I guess I can make that statement based on my observations that Harleys are slow, lumbering, and ugly. And let's add in offendingly loud while were at it. But hey, you're right, to each his own. I got no problem with that. I do take exception to their holier-than-thou attitude, especially...

    Adjust Throttle Cable

When you run that Wally map, pay attention to your top end. It really drained some of the oomph from my '05 up there. Very noticeable. I ran with the stock PCIII map tonight and it was much better top end and still fairly smooth in the 4100-5000 range. Try 'em both.
