    My SW-FOG Saturday Diversion

I was finally inspired by Old Michael's ride report to post up on my version of the recent SW-FOG. On Saturday at SW-FOG, rather than follow the crowd to a two-hour lunch, I diverted the other way to check out Monument Valley on the border of Utah and Arizona, to the east of Page. I have long...

Q: What's the highest mountain in the lower 48?

Awesome photos and accomplishment! I was feeling the onset of hypoxia last week on the trail at the North Rim of the Grand Canyon at 8500 feet elevation. I'm sure that Mt. Whitney truly is breathtaking!

I made it home!! Did you?

I departed Page at 6:30 this morning. Arrived home in Bakersfield just before 6pm. Pretty chilly this morning, but the afternoon made up for it. Temps in excess of 100 from Kingman, AZ all the way to Bakersfield.

    SWFOG 2009 Update

Because of an unusually heavy workload, I'll be unable to... miss this. I gotta hit the road before I lose what's left of my mind. Plan to leave Bako at o-dark-thirty on Thursday to arrive in Page mid-afternoon. I'm ready. :yahoo: Too bad, OM. But at least you're still coming for supper...

    Rode up to Mt Baker

Great photos, Panman. Reminds me of the time I rode up to Mt. Baker on my then new '77 KZ-650, while stationed at NAS Whidbey Island. Looks different than I remember, because I was there in February. Snow was 10 feet high on the road sides. Thanks for sharing. You are blessed.

Interest in a 2009 SWFOG gathering?

I researched the historical weather data for the Page, AZ area for the annual dates of the planned SW-FOG. Chances are good that the weather will be darn-near perfecto! Weather Underground Now I'm really stoked!
