    I don't see this everyday?

Too bad! That appears to be a rather rare Piper Comanche 400. Factory hot rod powered by an 8-cylinder 0-720. Three bladed prop appears to have one blade feathered. Just shy of having made the runway too.

    '06 Will not Start

Sounds alot like condensation accumulating in the bottom of your tank after sitting for an extended period.

    Wearing it out

I have the same helmet. You know... those grungy pads can be removed and washed! And the liner can be tucked and glued in place. But, if you're looking to stimulate the economy, that's an option too.

    Goat Trailing on an FJR

Actually it was pretty much hardpack since we haven't had much rain/snow in the past week or so. There were a few areas of soft sand and gravel, but I find that the FJR, with nice wide new PR2s, handles the soft stuff much better than my streetbikes of old with their narrow Dunlop K81s...

    Goat Trailing on an FJR

Oh yea. I returned via the Woodford-Tehachapi Road (Tehachapi Loop).

    Goat Trailing on an FJR

Inspired by a fellow Pashnit brother from Bakersfield, Groucho on his new GS-1200 Adventure, I decided to explore an alternate route over the Tehachapi mountains to Stallion Springs. It can be done. Route Map The weather was perfect and the wildflowers were in full bloom. The road starts out...

    I Think I Understand

If you'll recall, about a year ago, I led a bunch of NorCal riders thru the area, after they'd finished the StreetMasters course at Willow Springs! That ride included the 155, plus the bonus Old Stage Road from Glennville to Porterville! But you and your sidekick Tonto were in too much of a...

    I Think I Understand

Great pics of many of my favorite places, Old Michael! I think the reason I like DV so much is because everything is just so extreme! FJR Pierre is right, in another month or so it'll be too hot to even breathe there! You picked a good time to visit. Wishing I could have met up with you when...

    Show me your tank bags

Here's a recent shot of my Yamaha Euro tankbag. Last time I checked they were no longer available here. But I have had it for almost three years now and it goes everywhere with me.

    Excellent Bako Area Ride

Touché! Point taken. I was hungry and that sammie was calling my name. No time for fancy road-side pictures. Guess I'll just have to do it all over!

    Excellent Bako Area Ride

Yesterday, since all my chores were caught up for a change, I decided to get out of town for a long overdue ride to nowhere. Cruised some of my local favorite roads, east out of Bakersfield on Bena Road to the beloved Caliente-Bodfish Road. Rode it north to Lake Isabella. Lapped the lake and...

MY FJR IS KILLING ME !!!!

If that's you in your avatar, then I'm afraid you and your groin are doomed to be uncomfortable on the FJR! :haha:

Metzeler Roadtec Interact Z6's in '08 FJR?

I was very pleased with the performance and wear from the Metzeler Z6's that I have ridden on. Admittedly, I no longer ride like Ben Spies (or Wes Cooley, from my younger days). My OEM Z6's lasted over 10k miles. The second set lasted 8500, including a puncture in the rear tire (sticky string...
