    drain plug gaskets

I use the crush washer. One advantage that I like is you know it is about tight enough when you feel the washer crush. Less chance of stripping threads. Mac

    4000 mile service

I changed mine at 8K miles, don't know why because the bike was running perfect. I now have 7K on the new plugs and it is still running perfect, I think I will just wait awhile until I change them again. I agree, why change when the bike is running perfect. It would be different if something...

I also have an engage tank bag and love it. As far as being lockable, no it is not. But neither is any other bag that I know of. Mac

    Removing the Givi V46 Lid

Thanks Silent, I sure could have used this two days ago. The part that really threw me was trying to find the two screws that were never there. Once I found out they were missing then I just applied a little more pressure to the lid. There will be screws in the two holes when I put it back...

    Givi V46 top case

I purchased a light kit from Fred H. from Ft. Worth , Tx. He is on this forum and the pictures he displayed looked great. Anything I can do to light up my rear end is ok in my book. Tomorrow I will attempt the install, I sure hope it goes better then removing the lid did. ( Did I say that )...

    Givi V46 top case

Yippee, I got it off, Guess what, Givi didn't put any screws in those two holes in my top case, They were really playing with my mind, a very small thing to play with. I was very nervous about pushing too hard on a plastic case but when I looked at your picture I figured all I had...

    Givi V46 top case

I cannot thank you enough for the picture, that is where I thought the screws would have to be. However my top case just has a hole where you show the screws. I put a small screw driver in the hole and found nothing, I pushed on it and could move the top lid if I pushed real hard but it is...

    Givi V46 top case

Thanks for the info but I guess I am blind and stupid, I even got the wife out to look for the last two screws but to no avail. Gez, I hate that . If I ask you real nice, I will even get on my knees , would you send a picture of where they are. As far as I and the Wife can see there are no...

    Givi V46 top case

Thanks for the input, I now have the document holder off and the two side reflectors off. I removed one screw that apparently is to hold the middle reflector on but it is still firmly attached. Now I am stopped again. Cannot find anymore screws and am sure there must some more around to...

    Givi V46 top case

I an wanting to install brake lights in my Givi V46 top case and the instructions tell me to first remove the lid of the top case per Givi's instructions. I have looked all over but either I lost the instructions or I never got them. I would imagine that you need to remove the red plate under...

    Oil Pan

When I am getting ready to change oil I hang on to a empty gallon milk jug and then pour the oil out of the pan into the Jug. Then I clean out the drain pan. When I have several gallon jugs of old oil I take them to the recycle center. Works for me Mac

    3000 Mile Tires and Trip

I got 8500 miles on my origional Bridgestone 020 tires , the back needed changing but the front had at least another 1-2 thousand left on it. Just keep your air pressure up and you should not have a problem. I have 6500 on my Bridgstone 021's and according to the tread left I should get...

From Nashville, TN to... over yonder!

I am not sure of the roads that you plan to ride but this would be my suggestion in Az. Hwy 191 from Safford to Eager. Hwy 89 from Wickenburg to Prescott, 89A from Prescott to Flagstaff. Plan to spend some time in Jerome and Sedona. Instead of the usual rout to the south side of the Grand...

How to fill the back seat up

Have you ever thought of turning the situation around and you be the pillion passenger. I for one would never consider ridding pillion with someone. Maybe she would be better with her own bike and in control of her own destiny Just a thought. Mac

    1000 Mile Ride Report!

Welcome to the Clan, the first thing I did when I got my 07 was install a new windsheild and a cruise control. Now I have no wind noise and can let my throttle hand rest on a long trip. I also added a sheepskin seat cover that I like. Ride careful out there now , as you know you have a lot...

    T-Bags

I have never used a T bag but my concern would be that it would raise the center of gravity so much that the bike would be very top heavy. A large tank bag would be in a better position. You see a lot of Harley riders with these bags but their machine has a very low center of gravity and are...
