Hot Weather, Pavement, and Heavy Bike

So far I've never needed any type of "side stand assistance." Lucky maybe. I've learned to always look at the paving before I put 'er down. While parking at work I put the stand down where the pavement had been repaired...you know, one of those tar lines. The stand quickly plowed thru it and got...

    Sticky string or Slime

I ordered mine directly from Slime. It's t-handle where the tools store in the handle. Easy to store underneath the seat.

For those about to waterproof, we salute you... gps cover, par excellence...

Does your gps unit moan and scream "oh yeah, oh baby" ? Does it want to light a cigarette or cuddle after a ride? Does your gps unit go limp everytime you think of baseball? If ever encounter difficulty to get the gps UP and running then don't be embarrassed.....happens to a lot of units.

Nothing like a bungie to wreck holliday

Let's list everyone who you should sue: The bungie producer. The company that did the ISO testing at the bungie manufacturing site. The distributor who sold the bungie to the store where you bought it. The store who sold you the bungie. The dealership that sold you the FJR. The salesman...

    Delorme GPS anyone?

Curious if anyone else is using a Delorme GPS unit on their bike. https://shop.delorme.com/OA_HTML/DELibeCCtp...p?section=10460 Besides riding the fjr I have a need for gps as I hike and explore the 4x4 trails. The Delorme's maps would come in very handy for such activities. When I go on...

I got the "mini" tire repair kit from Slime: The tools fit in the handle. Takes up little space.

Air Filter Change = Increased Smoothness?

Borderline NEPRT? +1 K&N I have K&N in my FJR and 4runner mainly for long-term cost savings. I noticed an increase in pick-up when I put a K&N in my maxima several years ago. I believe we all agree on to use an air filter AND a clean one...

    Radar detector

What state and local jurisdiction was that? You gotta tell us how fast you were traveling and what was the posted limit? The V1, or any other detector, won't detect when a leo is behind you and clocks you without using radar. At least in CO this is manner of catching speeders is upheld in...

    Blackberry Bold or IPhone???

I've had a blackberry for a year now and I find the OS to be frustrating to use. The menus aren't user friendly - once again it's a device designed by computer nerds who don't work in the real world. At a conference I sat next to a friend who had an iPhone. We both were uploading info on...

    Radar detector

I waited awhile too see if someone else would do their right FJRForum duty and hijack the thread. No one stepped up to the plate so I did.

    Vibration around 100-110mph?

On Sun I rode from Gloreita, NM to the CO state line at 100mph, 165 miles, both saddle bags loaded and a small seat bag. Not bragging (very thankful I didn't get a ticket) but to prove the point I didn't notice any vibration beyond the norm.

    ?'s about performance mods

Though I still have a lot to learn on riding, the FJR is incredibly "performanced" enough for me. If you want thrills then do like Warchild and get a Die-a-busa.

    Cheap *** farkles.

Touche. However, these farkles (except for the helmet lock) were originally intended for a temporary fix. I replaced the paper visor for electrical tape... for me is a better option because I can move the height however and whenever. When winter comes I'll be planning to install the avcc and...
