What did you do to your FJR today?

I did a few things today but the only thing that got in front of the camera was the installation of the bar-end mirror. Now what is behind me is perfectly clear.

Has anyone measured the temp of their elect grips?

Well - it was my doing - I had the grips wired in series. The owner of the Hot Grips company was in communication with me late last (Saturday) night with the path to figure this out. I'm impressed with their concern for the customer. Those grips get really warm and the vari-controller is an...

Has anyone measured the temp of their elect grips?

The resistor isn't used with the vari-controller. I like the idea about bypassing - will try that first thing tomorrow.

Has anyone measured the temp of their elect grips?

I have them wired parallel - but the instructions suggest they can be wired in series. I also wired the ground back to my fuse block, not to the frame.

Has anyone measured the temp of their elect grips?

Has anyone measured the temp of their elect grips?

I just finished the install of Hot-Grips on my '06 FJR and they just don't feel that hot. I ordered the variable heat controller and installed that in the little square on the left where the Yamaha heat adjuster goes. I took the bike for a twenty mile ride and took my Fluke non contact...

    FJR Rear Suspension Adjustment

One thing to consider - the way a progressive suspension works is the shock speeds up as you use up travel. When you start out with too much sag, the suspension is in the place that works the shock faster = harder ride.

New (to me) 2006 - difficult rear axle removal

Wow – what a sweet ride. Spooned on the rear PR3 today and took it down my favorite “scrub in new tire” road. This is a rough, complicated, off the beaten path road that I have been playing on for a long time. The new tires have transformed this bike (I’m not surprised). Funny thing – one of my...

New (to me) 2006 - difficult rear axle removal

I'm keeping my FZ for now - perhaps making it (more) naked. I also had a Bandit 400 - sold it last summer. Have some parts left over if you need something.

New (to me) 2006 - difficult rear axle removal

Perhaps you have another style bike to wear tires at a faster rate? FZ1?

New (to me) 2006 - difficult rear axle removal

My best friend and his son have had FJR's since '04 and I've done all the tire changing and maintenance on those bikes. Have put a few miles on both of them also so the routine is something I'm familiar with. As mentioned in my first post, the dealer loaned me the factory service manual to use...
