If you pay for tire mounting, how much?

If Cape Coral wasn't so dang far away from Orlando, I'd be begging for your local dealer's name.

Gerald and Motorcycle Larry Highway Peg Similarity?

Wasn't trying to imply any impropriety anywhere -- sometimes multiple people develop extremely similar solutions to the same design criteria. Like jblanken64, I would like more leg room on long straight stretches of road, and don't want to step on anyone's design toes if I use a similar mount...

Gerald and Motorcycle Larry Highway Peg Similarity?

Can't help but notice that the brackets for Gerald and Motorcycle Larry look awfully, awfully similar. The set of Gerald's pegs I have don't have any markings on them, so I wonder if there isn't any patent or copyright involved? And then I wonder which design came first?

    AIMExpo

Recommended breakfast in the near, but not too near, vicinity is Too Jays deli, on Sand Lake Rd at Dr. Phillips Blvd. Incredible breakfast (and lunch) value. Not a lot of non-chain places in the area. A bit further, at Dr. Phillips and Conroy, is Peach Valley Cafe. Very, very good.

MCL accessory light brackets for Gen II

Sent a PM with an email address, so I could send you photos.

MCL accessory light brackets for Gen II

Found them. Didn't take a pic yet -- but will do so and get it to you.

MCL accessory light brackets for Gen II

I have a pair of the fairly simple L-bracket variety -- not sure if they are MCL or other. Bought them gently(ish) used some time back, and never used them. I'll take a walk out to the garage in a bit and see if I can find them.

    Most HATED Farkle or Accessory

I know no one will agree with me, but I despised my custom, made for me, Day-Long saddle. Too much money, too much time, too much shipping, and it didn't fit me (or the bike really) nearly as well as $600 should. Sat me up too far, tilted me back too far, and was too wide at the front. Getting...

    whine

Whine while rolling at speed or when stopped at lights and such? My fuel pump whines far more than I appreciate whenever I'm stopped. Dealer, of course, says that's normal...

Gentlemen, I've gone to the dark side...

I've had a '99 Speed Triple since my first demo ride knocked my socks off. Demo'ed every one I could at Daytona until they (quite stupidly) stopped doing NikeWeek demos. My last demo, they did the standard 'No wheelies, no stoppies, no sling-shotting' speech. I don't think we made it a mile...

    Driving light mounted low

When I'm looking for a screw dropped on the ground, a very effective technique is to hold a flashlight beam parallel to and along the ground, sweeping it left and right looking for the big shadow grazing angle light produces. The problem I have with low mounted driving lights is that they do...

SS braided brake lines: who's got 'me on their FJR?

I haven't checked the manual, but most manufacturers list brake line replacement intervals as 4 years or similar. Obviously that gets ignored an awful lot, but if one were to replace the stock lines as nominal maintenance, it would seem reasonable to use braided steel lines, many of which are...

    Thoughts on selling

Test ride an RT. FJRs are not for everyone, and sometimes more really is more.

    Central Florida Cookie Run

Was hoping to make it an invite for the coming weekend, but remembering my anniversary (in time!) makes that a bad idea. Will be posting a proposed date shortly.

    Central Florida Cookie Run

A ride from the north Orlando area around Lake Apopka, through Mt. Plymouth and Mt. Dora to the German bakery in Yalaha. I generally make this run at least once a month. Many of the best 'curves' I know of in central Florida (short of freeway on ramps, that is). The coffee is good, and there is...

Wal-mart says "No Oil Change in Parking Lot"

No offense, but I don't blame them for setting such a policy. Sure, you're going to clean up after, and have no intention to leave a mess, but it's pretty easy to have a slip and suddenly there's two quarts of oil on the ground. Then there's the matter of the heathen hoard (car drivers) who see...

    Kenny Roberts 2004 FJR

Looks nice. Have to say though, that 65K miles, dropped, painted, and salvage title makes the seller's comment of 'won't last long at this price' more than just a touch optimistic...

Info Needed on GoCruise Throttle Lock

The thing that makes the Go Cruise my go-to is that I don't have to mess with my factory heated grips. Keeps me away from the G2 as well, unfortunately.
