    Rad the mechanic

Funny how that happened to it and you at the same time!!   Nah, I don't think you've lost your touch. But I am deeply concerned about what you might have done to piss Murphy off so much, and whether or not the balance has been restored yet.... :o

Saw a crashed 2008 Concours today

True, but this assumes that Kawi got it right with the C14. Jury's still out on that one. In the meantime, bummer for the guy who krashed his new scoot. Wouldn't wish that on anybody...

People from LA don't pay attention to driving

That's just insane. I don't have any other words to describe my feeling after watching that. :dribble:

    FFJ Owners?

Actually, I think it's sort of nice having a bunch of ********* around. It tends to keep all the whiny ******** away. Sort of like bug spray. It don't smell the best, but it's better than getting the blood sucked out of you a drop at a time!!!

One might assume that miss Audi driver can afford a good attorney.....

    tickets...........

You gotta be shittin' me. Try asking who has more than 10, you might get a shorter list!  Prolly had over 20 tickets in my time - most of them back in the '80's. Usually got popped for 10-15 over the limit - I had a real tough time driving 55 mph on the highway, and live in an...

Upper Peninsula Tour first week of Sept

Clicky here Up at the north end of the Tunnel of Trees is a nice Polish restaurant called Smolak's. Definitely a good place to eat - the link above gives more info about the location. When traveling in the Upper Midwest, be prepared for everything, weather wise. You can expect anything from...

    Dropping Fjr

It's the rider, not the bike. Three words: FAT OLD DUMB To put not too fine a point on it..... :yahoo: :clapping:

    Lemon Law

I would: 1) Not worry anymore about the lemon law until the time comes that you've actually surpassed the requirements for it. For now, focus on getting the bike fixed. 2) Check the local dealers to see how busy they are. Get a commitment on repair time, if possible, and let them know you are...

    12 Motorcycle Myths Revealed

I'm aware of who Art is, and I like a lot of what he's written. I wasn't looking to trash him. However, he's the one who wrote an article citing scientific research, without telling us anything about the research. As the author of the article, it's his responsibility to make his point. My...

    12 Motorcycle Myths Revealed

I'm always skeptical of atricles that claim "research actually shows....." and then they fail to mention who did the research and often fail to cite any record of it at all. Since most so called "safety research" is performed for financial or political gain, I prefer to keep my own council...

Has your 1st gen FJR been repaired for "The Tick"??

FYI the surging issue is limited to the Gen II FJR's (06 and 07 models so far). No reason to expect surging on an '03..... :D

    Guess who got a C-14

I really have nothing against HD, but OTOH, I don't want my FJR to sound like a potato either....

    OH YOU PEOPLE!!!

That's not what it's about, but you're close.... This is EXACTLY what it's about. Every experience you have on a bike forms an impression on you. Ever been rounding a blind curve on a cool fall morning, and suddenly, without even thinking about it, you rolled off the throttle, only to find that...

    A really FNG type question

As long as you keep the oil changed on a semi-regular basis and the bike is not overheating, you should be able to run whatever RPM you want (short of redline) for extended periods of time. Certainly 4500-5500 RPM is no worry.

    Long Highway Pegs

Any chance you might have a pic and the part numbers you used to set this up?

Kawasaki Bring Versys to the US

The above snippet is from the Kawi marketing literature. This type of "engine modification" was previously known as "de-tuning". Bottom line is they did what is all too common with these standard, UJM style bikes - they gutted the top end of a great motor to provide moderate improvements in...
