    Soltek - Cornering Lens

I'm looking for real world experience with the cornering lens. Thinking of running one driving and one cornering light. 1. Is the light actually useful as a cornering light? 2. Can it be adjusted so that it could be run as a low beam light and not blind oncoming vehicles?

    WTB: Soltek Fuego HID

What's the best online price for Solteks? Or better yet, anyone have a set they'd like to get rid of?

John Ryan Attempts "Ultimate Coast to Coast"

Don't quote me on this, but on John's first attempt up the Haul road he suffered a flat and had to turn around to get a new tire in Fairbanks. I believe he had new tires put on in Minot, ND. Not sure how they looked at in KW but I'd expect they have a few miles left on them. Similarly, Mr...

John Ryan Attempts "Ultimate Coast to Coast"

I just spoke to John. Unofficial time is 86 hours 31 minutes and he already thinking of how to shave off a few hours for the next one. Congrats on SHATTERING the record!

    BB Run = Epic FAIL

I usually learn more from 'failed' attempts than successful ones. Thank for posting and good decision making on stopping the ride when you realized it wasn't safe. That's one of the harder things to do. Just think of it as a shakedown run for the MD2020. :)

just got my R&G sliders for my Gen I

Mike, Here's a writeup on installing the sliders. It shouldn't be a problem without the template. If your off a bit with your pilot hole you can easily fix it. https://www.fjr1300.info/howto/sliders.html Cheers

    Noisy Engine

Paranoid? Considering what you've experienced I'd say hell no. I do all my own maintenance, but your post got me thinking I wanted this documented just in case I had a similar failure. After I adjusted my valves this winter the CCT didn't extend like it usually does and required some persuasion...

    Noisy Engine

My bikes been a little noisy since last summer. Just off idle the noise would stop and it wasn't noisy all the time. It's steadily become louder and more consistent. Thought I'd wait until after the winter valve check/adjustment and see if it quieted down. It didn't. After reading the 'Curse of...

Yet another set of airshow pics

Tyndall had F-106's from 59 to 84 IIRC. So they were flying them when I was in high school too, using the 102's for drones. They used to let the winner of the William Tell (Air-to-Air) competition shoot one of em down in the gulf. Back in the day we could ride our dirt bikes out on the dunes...

Yet another set of airshow pics

Nice shots Wfooshee. I love the sound of those V-12's also. Back when I was stationed at Tyndall the base was more open. We'd have squadron kegger's after a practice ORI at the hanger and then stumble back across US 98 to the barracks. No fences in those days. I remember on one occasion I was...

    MD2020

Yippee ki-yay, XXXIII here. This is going to be a blast. :yahoo: The base route has us going through some good riding area's and I'm sure Rick's got some excellent spots picked out of us to visit. I'm really looking forward to it.

JB Turns Activist: Fights Motorcycle Injustice!

There's some good info here. Check out the Motorcycle Fact Sheet. https://www.ridetowork.org/ I had a related issue where I work. We had one parking spot reserved for bikes close to the building, but then someone in the security dept decided it would be better used as manager parking. I...

How do you “Long Distance” guys concentrate???

Lots of good examples here. I don't use a CC. That forces me to maintain my speed the manual way and lets me know when I've become distracted or too fatigued. It's probably similar to flying, once your up at cruising altitude and engaged your autopilot, there's not a whole lot of interaction...

    Hwy 150 March 2009

Nice video JDog, but Jeez, next time just pass the slow BMW rider instead of riding up his ***. :)

    OK Midwesterners--Who Rode Today

+1 on the street sweepers. Broke out the KLR this morning. Fun dodging all the ice from the melt and refreeze we had yesterday. But should be 50 for the ride home. :yahoo: I'd better get my *** in gear and finish the winter maintenance on the FJR.

    26,000 mile Valve Adjustment

Thought I'd resurrect this thread to keep all the data together. I know most FJR's don't need valve adjustments. And those that do usually only require one. But some require multiple adjustments. Just I'm one of the unlucky ones. I just finished my 2nd check (54,000 miles) and found 4 valves...

Alternative Gen I Aux Fuel Cell plumbing

If the aux tank is pressurized, what is to prevent the fuel transferring to the main tank and then venting overboard?

    OK Midwesterners--Who Rode Today

Good for you fireguy! I rolled out my KLR this morning and that ***** let me down. Wouldn't fire up or even think of starting. I'm going home in a few and beat the hell out of it until it starts.

    WTB Gen I rear wheel

Jerry, you can use a ABS rear wheel on your non-ABS bike. You''ll just need to change a seal. My spare wheel is ABS and it works fine on my non-ABS bike. https://www.fjrforum.com/forum/lofiversion/...php/t20041.html
