    Fork Seals - AK20 forks

Thanks for the detailed reply Ross, much appreciated. Since moving to Oz, I've been spending most of my riding time doing Adventure riding, so the poor FJR has been less active here. I've only got about 320,000 miles on her at this time. Have PMed you my email address, so please forward any...

    Fork Seals - AK20 forks

I need to replace the fork oil in my forks fitted with the AK20 kit. The only reference I can find for the oil level height Traxxion recommends is 160mm from the top (spring, cartridge, etc. removed). Just wanted to confirm this oil level with any one running the AK20 kit.

    FJR Mileage Milestones

Hey guys who makes the mileage logos these days, I guess I need to update mine to 300K FJR Club ;)

    Tubular handlebar adaptor for FJR?

I finally got a chance to do the install of the ABM setup and as AuburnFJR found, I'm very happy with how this turned out. I now have much better ergonomics and plenty of adjustment. Being on about 5'10" I would ideally like to have the bars about 1" more back (and maybe 1" more up for better...

The Dunlop Roadsmart III compared to Michelin PR2/PR4GT Dilemma

I've got a couple of thousand miles now on the RS3 and have run them in similar (less ideal conditions) as you mention and have been very pleasantly surprised with their performance and behavior. I've previously mostly run PR2, as well as a few sets of PR3, Angel GT, BT030, etc. In fact I'm so...

    Help with 2003 Forks

I've had success with using epoxy resin to fill in small stone chips and scratched (that were too deep to buff out) on my FJR stanchion tubes. After sending the repaired areas level I used 800 & 1200 grit wet & dry sand paper followed by a scotch-brite pad using criss-cross motion to create...

    Tubular handlebar adaptor for FJR?

Thanks for the reply AuburnFJR, I've gone ahead and ordered the parts. I'm currently running a Helibar top triple clamp and risers, I have previously remove the cable guide as part of the ignition switch replacement. I'm really hoping I can get the same improved ergo results as you have...

    Tubular handlebar adaptor for FJR?

AuburnFJR, I'm getting close to pulling the trigger on this setup and just wanted to double check a couple of things: 1. Could you pls confirm that you did NOT need to extend/replace any of the hydrophilic hoses or electrical lines? 2. Could you pls let me know why you didn't buy the 1 1/8"...

U-Joint Bearing Replacement (CROSS JOINT COMP. 5JW-46180-00-00)

Good question, however, since the symptoms are the same with both sets of rims I'm less likely to blame the cush rubbers. I will however check them out too at some point, thanks.

U-Joint Bearing Replacement (CROSS JOINT COMP. 5JW-46180-00-00)

Thanks again for sending through the U-joint FJRay, I'm eagerly awaiting to install it, once I get my hands on it

Mojolever and 2017 original Battleax tires

You're not pushing the rest of the tire far enough into the middle of the rim. I suggest you rewatch some of the youtube vids paying close attention to that particular aspect. When I first started changing my own tires I had similar issues, so speaking from experience...

U-Joint Bearing Replacement (CROSS JOINT COMP. 5JW-46180-00-00)

FJRay, thanks for the kind offer. The problem with my U-join is more of an annoyance than a mission critical issue so I am happy to wait for it to arrive. I will PM you my contact info. Thanks again

U-Joint Bearing Replacement (CROSS JOINT COMP. 5JW-46180-00-00)

Thanks for the link Ross and the info and comments Bounce. I've checked into the U-joint you posted Ross and it comes off a 91,000 km ex-police bike, so a bike that was threshed by cops who don't care about the bike since it's not theirs and another owner who bought the bike after the police...

U-Joint Bearing Replacement (CROSS JOINT COMP. 5JW-46180-00-00)

In searching around the web I've found this nice tutorial on the process, which seems to also indicate that unless there is obvious wear in the U-joint than replacement bearings are not necessary, rather just a clean up and fresh grease. How to Change/Lube Driveshaft U-Joint

U-Joint Bearing Replacement (CROSS JOINT COMP. 5JW-46180-00-00)

Hi all, With my '07 FJR less than 1k miles from hitting the 300k miles mark I'm again noticing significant "slap" in the drive line when going from throttle off to on. I have previously replaced the #38 CROSS JOINT COMP. (5JW-46180-00-00) with a new one at around 125k miles for the same...

    Fork Tube Stuck

I have once experienced this exact same problem on my '07, so I know the pain and horror you're feeling. From memory, my guess as to what had happened was similar to your conclusions so I figured it's already f#cked in which case I have nothing to lose by trying to free it up so I used a heat...

    Rear shock linkage maintenance

Thanks for the update Fljab, according to my search, the Main Stand 2 brackets were updated starting with the 2013 models and are same through to 2019 models. Also the Center Stand was revised in 2013. https://yamahaoemparts.com.au/part/yamaha-parts/1MC2715200#top
