No brake lights and on the road. KrZy8

There's relay right beside the ABS controller block (you'll need to remove the RHS side panel to access it), you could check that this relay is working correctly, i.e. not stuck due to contact burn.

    Voltage Regulator Output Connector

Eastern Beaver has the Furukawa QLW connectors that you need. https://easternbeaver.com/Main/Elec__Products/Connectors/R-R_Connectors/r-r_connectors.html As well as complete kits to replace the crappy OEM wires, which after a few years progressively fail resulting in the battery not getting...

    Oil Filter Purolator 14612

I've been running the modified Union bolt (that a friend machined down for me per Norman's specs) for the past 3 oil/filter changes, using the "outie" PureOne filters with ZERO problems. I'm still puzzled why anyone using after market oil filters is still procrastinating on doing this no...

Sena paired with SR10 using MP3?

My setup and use has been very similar to Iggy's, in the past I was piping music from a Zumo550 and now that I've upgraded to a Zumo660 which does support BT Stereo natively I'm still not sure if I'll bother with direct BT or keep going through the SM10 BT Hub.

    Neutral sending switch?

I had to eventually replace mine Neutral Switch Assy as the contacts wear down, since there is a little ball bearing that runs over the contacts for the different gear positions. #10 Neutral Switch Assy 3P6-82540-00-00 $42.57 I would suggest replacing the O-ring at the same time as the...

    Cautionary Tales about Seth Laam!

I'm glad your issue with Seth is in the process of being resolved. The "ride over" comment was mine, and it was not made as joke, I was serious. In my mind it was a perfect excuse (justification) for a ride across this great country an extra time. When it comes to bikes/riding money/cost of...

    Cautionary Tales about Seth Laam!

When I was shopping for a replacement for my worn out Bill Mayer seat, I did speak with Seth about getting a seat made, he was nice on the original call where he wanted me to just send in my BM seats and he would contact me later with an ETA for a build date and other specifics. Given that I'm...

Beating a dead horse, listen to this and tell me if this is CCT issue

I can hear a little chain slapping, and would certainly not hesitate to replace the CCT. I swapped mine before installing the replacement engine and it looks like its been updated again, as mine (purchased about 10 months ago) had a Green dot not the Blue dot like the relacement CCT I installed...

    Going to the Dark Side

OCfjr, Thanks for the all the research and write ups, I'm going to be trying a CT on my second set of rims. Just wondering, many of the CTs are rated for as much as 50 psi, so I would have thought inflating them to close to max psi and given the fact that they are mounted on the FJR rim would...

2007 Cranks once and then acts like the battery is dead

My starter worked for 160k miles, so I would be surprised if yours died at the break-in mileage of only 20k Another interesting point to note, the starter on my new/replacement engine which had about 11k miles on it looked like it was brand new, i.e. no observable wear on the brushes or dirt...

    Startling Discovery

Blasphemy I know, but is it remotely possible that you forgot to torque down those nuts, this is something I always worry more about than fixating on a specific torque value unless its on a very specific/sensitive component. Here is Japan, when a bike shop does any work on a bike the mechanic...

Inside fairing and back side of side case protection

I find that a nice consistent layer of mud and road grime keeps any further debris off the inner surfaces, at least that's what I do

rough at idle and constant throttle

I'd also confirm there are not vacuum leaks, as that's something that would only be a noticeable issue at low RPM/idle.

    2nd gear is bad

    And replace the CCT ;)

    2nd gear is bad

Changing transmission parts is a major job, not only will you need to drop the engine out but also tear it down. Unless you're able and willing to do all of this yourself I suggest that a decent used Gen1 engine might be a better option. At least swapping the engine is not rocket science tearing...

    Highway pegs for Canyon Cages

The hwy pegs and mounting hardware you see in the above pics is as shown below. I believe the Gen3 cages use the 1" tubing so you will need to get the correct size BkRider Frame Clamp brackets. Kuryakyn 7573 Gloss Black Footpeg Mount For Harley-Davidson by Kuryakyn Link...

    Cut down windscreen pics, please

I have Cee Bailey +2 reverse contour screen for cooler weather, but for summer riding I really like my cut down OEM screen, actually it works much better cut down then stock I'm 5'10" and the OEM screen is cut down by 6". In the full down position the airflow hits me around mid chest, and in...

    Toasted Headlight Socket

+1, you can't go wrong with the Eastern Beaver H4 Headlight Relay Kit, and your headlights will be brighter than you've ever seen them, since the EB H4 kit uses heavier gauge wiring and sources the power to the headlights via a relay directly from the battery so all the losses through the crappy...
