    Parenting Isn't For Cowards

Mike, Your latest post is great news. I hope Emily has a great time at the prom and that her cocktail keeps working so she can work on understanding what life has dealt her. One of the cards in her hand is a loving mom and pop. Tom

I think Bust would like this for his bathroom

I see that the Silk Soft is 100% recycled...I hope it's not recycled from the product they are making.

My Dad and Mom Warned me

I was sitting here this morning thinking about Dad. After a bit I thought I’d check out the forum, and the first post I clicked on was this. **** Carver…how did you know? I rebelled big time as a kid—I bought a bike despite his “strong” objections, but when I started racing he was in my pit...

    An FJR odometer milestone..........

Skooter, I can't even get my head around that number! My BMW 325 is 16 years old, I used to drive the **** out of it because I used it for work, and I just turned over 202,000. 222,222 in 6 years, ummm... We know from your post you eat, do you take time out to sleep?

    Bill of Sale Question

Bills of sale do not need to be notarized in NC. In fact, a bill of sale isn't even necessary. The title, which is notarized, contains all of the information necessary, as it transfers the title, includes mileage, etc. If you do want to provide, or get, a bill of sale, it acts as a contract...

    Anti-Rotational Helmet - 70% better protection....

Actually, if you had read research commissioned by Motorcyclist magazine a few years ago, you'd have seen that Arai and Shoei (and any helmet with the pre-2010 Snell rating) did not offer the best protection, because they allow too much force in an impact to reach the head. Notions built on...

    Water getting in gas tank

I'd also be suspicious of the gas you pumping into your tank. Try using a different gas station and see if that solves the problem

Triple clamp install - where to source special tools?

+1 Center punched on the bike, drilled out by myself with no problem. Didn't raise the tank. You are making this much more difficult than it is.

This is what LUCKY looks like

I think he totaled that sucker.... The insurance company should include the price of a pair of new underwear in the payoff.

2 Issues on used 09A test ride

I'm in Charlotte, too. Let me know if you'd like to borrow an ear accustomed to the sound of an FJR. PM me if you'd like me to meet you somewhere to check out the sounds you are hearing. Tom

    My Orwellian Doctor's Visit

Is this a problem? Gee, I thought it was the normal state of things at this age.... :dribble:

    Assimilated!!! Finally

Congratulations for having the good sense to by an '06, the fastest FJR color. I'll add my $.02 on taming the abrupt throttle off idle. I used the G2 throttle cam and tube and found it helpful. It made quite a difference. But I still felt more was necessary, so I installed a PCIII. I think...

    Parenting Isn't For Cowards

Mike, My thoughts are with your family. Our kids mean so much to us and we want the best for them. Sometimes our immense love for them isn't enough, but the our love and support can help. As a father of a now 25-year-old, I feel your pain and frustration at not being to make everything right...

    Rider Protection for newer rider

Pretty much the same as Mcgyver74 for me, although I also have an Aerostitch 1pc. Roadcrafter for cooler months. I wear Kusatani gauntlet racing gloves year 'round. I no longer trust vented gloves. ATGATT

    Curious phrases spoken by motorcyclists....

I (or he or she) threw it away. (Used after a crash that is not initiated by a sudden impact and is the rider's fault.)

    Clarity Defog It Anti-Fog Treatment

I'll add my $.02 on Crash Cash's #3. I had the Pinlock on my helmet and had to toss it because of the optical distortion, especially at night. The worst were halos around any source of light. I felt my vision with it at night compromised my safety more than I was willing to risk. So I guess...

    Gerbing Heated Gloves

In late December I ordered a Microwire Jacket from them, and it was only after an inquiry that they sent me the shipping info, which I thought odd. I understand if they are a family business that is overwhelmed, but my next order for Gerbing items went to cyclegadgets.com. Same price as from...
