    Scorpion Helments

I had 4 helmets. They all ranged in price from 229 for the scorpion all the way up to 700 The Scorpion became my primary helmet because of it's comfort, anti fog capabilities, low noise and good ventilation. I assumed that my Schuberth Concept with the flip up front and internal retractable sun...

Fortuna for Salmon Oct 19th, 20th and 21st

the latest weather report in Fortuna makes it look like rain early Friday - scattered light showers Saturday. The scattered and light showers probably = none or hardly any rain. they say the rain will taper off by Friday afternoon. Temps range for 40s to 50s. Doable, not warm, but not too...

    Wilbers Shock

I could not believe the difference between the stock and Wilbers shock. It was the first time I ever went aftermarket on the shock and it was a big slap in the face. POW. This is what I've been missing!!!!!!!!!!!

Trading FJR for Dual Sport (XT350)?

I thought about this some more. I went a long time without bikes because of the kids. I think it was a mistake and I regret it. Instead, I wish I got them involved in dirt riding at a young age so they could grow up sharing a passion with dear ol dad. So sell the FJR, get 3 dirt bikes and...

    hesitation to ride

You are what you eat. I went some time without wanting to ride after a bad scare. I guess that makes me a ***** too if you are one for taking a break. You'll come back to it, or you won't. Either way, it's just a choice. Riding bikes doesn't give us balls...it just crowds them.

A cougar stalked me - I shot it! (with pics)

This occurred pretty darn close to my house. The American River green belt attracts deer, wild turkey, coyote and Mountain Lion. Typically, the lions that come down here are the older lions looking for easier prey, but not always the case. They often will expand the game to include pets. Not...

Trading FJR for Dual Sport (XT350)?

I do have an FJR and DRZ400. I really think the bikes complement each other perfectly. For a time I thought I might have bought too small a dual sport. After a few really happy 400 mile days on the DRZ, I couldn't be happier with my selection. I would not trade in my FJR for a DRZ. I tell you...

Wild big cat problem growing in the UK

well, these cougar attack reports seem to show my opinion to be incorrect. I thought they mostly attacked smaller people (kids and petite women). Not so. Quite a few larger guys get attacked, and sometimes two people were attacked! https://users.frii.com/mytymyk/lions/attacks3.htm

    Elk crossing

So if you chase a mountain lion that stole your ball, and catch him, do you get a free drop, or does that cost a stroke? I've seen a few of those bridges for animals...Great idea.

Wild big cat problem growing in the UK

It is pretty unlikely that a human will be attacked. Pumas are pretty much the same animal as a cougar, aka mountain lion. They rarely attack humans, especially when there is ample food (sheep) around. That is pretty amazing...I would have never thought about big cats in England! Now, Dover...

rode a new Katana 600 yesterday.

I don't think any Katana 600 owners expect that you'd feel like your arms almost got pulled out of their sockets. Katanas are a sensible, good handling, inexspensive, durable and comfortable bikes. They aren't made to perform in the same class as the GSXRs/R6/FZ6/etc class. For an inexspesive...
