Run Up the Beartooth Highway Video

I'm going to be in the area in late September and I am tempted to head over to Red Lodge from West Yellowstone. The maps I have show the road as closed during the winter (I can guess why if melt is still around in June), so is Beartooth likely to be open around the 20th or is it like Mt Evans...

    Tour of the Pyrenees 2008

Small bottles so I should be able to pack a couple for you. One to share - one to take home and treasure.

    Tour of the Pyrenees 2008

I'd rather not touch Poteen (Irish Potato based spirit) but it's possible a good single malt whisky may fit in the saddle bags :) Don, PM sent.

    Tour of the Pyrenees 2008

I'll be on holiday so I'll not worry too much about cost of meals, drinks, petrol and other sundry expenses. It'll all be about having fun :yahoo:

    Daytona 500 - I'm going

Have fun, I'm sure I'll be able to spot you in the crowd while I'm watching the race on TV in the UK.The last race I saw live was the Southern 500 at Darlington in 2001. I'll get to Daytona or Talledega someday! dave

    Tour of the Pyrenees 2008

I must admit to not being a very adventurous diner never having sampled Jellied Eel or Jugged Hare, but that menu looks very interesting. Hmm, think I'll go for fish or possibly the Chicken with Scampi. The one thing I especially remember from visiting my brother in Xativa is the habit of eating...

    Tour of the Pyrenees 2008

This is getting exciting now. I'll book the channel crossing when I get home tonight. I'll leave on Saturday 24th and make a quick run down to Clermont Ferrand (or possibly Millau) and then spend the next few days on the back-roads wending my way down to Barcelona, arriving on the 27th. So I'll...

    Tour of the Pyrenees 2008

Thanks once again for organising this trip. I know exactly what you and Don mean about organising tours. My 2006 tour to the Austrian Tirol started out with 5 bikes, increased to 25 and then back to 15 which confused me and annoyed various hoteliers en-route, so now I limit myself to groups of...

    Super Bowl in London

Its on live on BBC (BBC2 think) at 22:50, also on Sky Sports. Preview starts at 18:00 Sky Sports 3 with the game live on Sky Sports 1 at 22:00. Some pubs in London will be showing it (now open 24 hours) but I'm pretty certain that it will be shown at the Sports Cafe in London Haymarket. To...

    Oh Man...This is Great!!

Congratulations. Still waiting patiently (ridden in march 07) for mine, hopefully in the next few weeks as they seem to be catching up on the backlog now. Another one in the planning stage for my return from Terex51's Pyrenees tour in June. Dave

    Corsica videos

I've not been to Sardinia so can't offer any advice there, but the one thing I would say about Corsica is that the pace is quiet slow as you spend a lot of time in Cafes, swimming in mountain streams etc. We spent six nights in Porto Vecchio and did not see half of what we wanted. If you were...

    Corsica videos

Hi We took several days to ride through France (spent 2 days in the Vercors to the SW of Grenoble) then caught an overnight ferry from Toulon to Bastia. Cost about €260 for bike, rider & pillion and a cabin for the return journey. Dave

Arizona FJR Forum New Year's Day Ride for El Menudo!

Hi Don Hope you enjoyed your New Years day ride. I suspect it was somewhat drier and warmer than my ride home from the North of England. Fours hours of constant rain along with close to freezing temperatures make me long for our trip to the Pyrenees. Happy New Year Dave

I have not used them myself but Highland Rider come highly recomended from several of my friends. They are especially praiseworthy of owner and guide Peter McIntyre. See this thread by mcatrophy's Scottish Tour Dave

    Onboard Lap of the TT

Have a look at the Duke Video site. You should be able to find something you like. Also consider other road races such as the North West 200, Skerries, Ulster GP etc. The TT is sane compared to some, the superbikes were exceeding 200 Mph on public roads in NW200 this year. Dave

    NAFO, Dates & City Secured!

Its in the diary. I'm looking forward to meeting you there and the ride down from Flagstaff through Oak Creek looks pretty interesting, and maybe up to Jerome afterwards should we have time. See you in the Pyrenees before then. Dave

    NAFO, Dates & City Secured!

As much as I would like to join you at NAFO 2008 my American vacation starts in Joseph, Oregon on Sept. 6. Maybe I'll get a chance to meet a few of you over the 3 weeks I'll be touring the American West. dave
