I suppose it had to happen sooner or later....dropped my bike

Ouch! Been there, done that, but I was able to ease the bike down (nearly tore a hamstring doing it though!) I'm glad the previous owner of my FJR installed sliders!

    FJR appreciation

Love the R6's personality description! I don't consider a 2006 to be old! (mine is a 2004) I wish I had the "problem" of deciding which bike to ride--I only have one choice (although the FJR is always a good one for me :yahoo: ).

    Mistaken for BMW?

In the last 2.5 years of FJR ownership...its happened to me quite frequently.

    Saddlebags- On or Off?

I personally like the looks of the bike either way, but I keep them on 95% of the time for many of the reasons mentioned above. I don't have a top box, and rarely use my tankbag--the saddlebags are handy. And if they keep my profile low with local law enforcement...

    Four Year Brake Line Change?

Thanks for the inputs! I, too, felt this was an odd requirement, but I usually try to stick with the manual. And the natural "urge to mod" within me sees the opportunity to upgrade to SS lines (look honey, it says in the owner's manual I have to do this... ) I'll probably do all the...

    Four Year Brake Line Change?

I've looked around & haven't seen much on this (seems like most posts are about the differences between the '07 and '08, or should I trade my '06 for an '08 or wait for the '09  ) My 2004 FJR (w/ ABS) is coming up on the 4 year old mark, 36k miles & the pads need replacing anyway...

    Dairyland Premium going up...why?

About to begin my 3rd year with the FJR, last year I paid $670 for a year's full coverage with Dairyland/Sentry. (My 1st year was with Progressive, but when I moved from TN to TX, they freaked out so I switched.) This week, I got a renewal letter from Dairyland, with the premium going up to...

Would like to hear pipe options first hand

Hey, If you're still interested, I have Holeshots on my 04 you could listen to. I live on the east side (near Mesquite) but I ride into Dallas 4 days a week. Email me if interested. Vince

How many FJR pilots are aircraft pilots??

I've got just under 3,000 hours flying SH-60Bs & C-130s in the Navy. Now that I'm retired, I fly my FJR!

    communication system ?

Never had a comm system before, but I recently bought the StarComm from sportbikeeffects. It seemed the most highly recommended around here. Check out the StarCom website, they're not cheap, but its quality gear & works great.

NEP Throttle Lock photos on line

I had something like this years ago on my Radian. Any problems with one of these being interfered with by the heated grip wires?

    fjrchik's new fjr!!

Sure Doc- https://www.throttlerocker.com/ I ordered mine a few weeks ago, $10 shipped to your door. As discussed, positioning takes a little tweaking, and you have to really cinch down the velcro strap to make it stay. I had a Vista Cruise-type of lock on my old bike, but I was afraid it...

    lawinter

A sad topic indeed. Deepest regrets to Larry's family & friends. Very impressive the number of replies here though. I've often thought highly of the many members of this forum; 8 pages of replies is an indication of your caring hearts. God bless, Vince

    40th Birthday Present--2004 FJR!

Hey everyone, Just wanted to say hi & thanks for all the great posts. Helped me make the decision to go for it when my wife gave me the green light to buy a motorcycle for my 40th birthday a few months ago. Last bike was an 86 Yamaha YX600S (Radian) I sold in '96--finally got another bike! I...

    FJR Sighting--Texas

Hey guys, newbie to the forum here, got my '04 FJR 3 months ago & loving it! Not to hijack the thread here, but I have a question--I'm moving to the Dallas area this summer, never lived there before & I'll be going to school downtown--any recommendations on where to live? I'm married with 5...
