My opinion of State Farm motorcycle insurance

The rates, the service, the available policies and coverage limits, etc... they're ALL regional. Sadly.

    Holy insurance quote Batman!!!

40 years old. MC licensed. State Farm Pennsylvania Out of the city $335/yr, full coverage + riders for farkles & gear I shopped pretty heavily, and no one else came close to these rates for me. Progressive's quote was just plain insulting. Welcome to the litigious new world. As for "how...

Serious mistake today, looked at a 2007

I was just over at Chips' house this evening. That Black Cherry is BEAUTIFUL! He wouldn't trade me, tho' :(

    My first ride in 2007

It's funny, I used to think a sport(ier) bike with just a top case looked stupid. Then one day I pulled the bags off the Feej and left the top case on, and it's pretty much been that way since. I often wonder if I shouldn't round out the aesthetics a bit and get the color-matched V46(?) bag, but...

    My first ride in 2007

I ride with this guy all the time. Trust me, we of the faster-blue-cult have to rethink our position :glare:

    Garmin zumo™ Interface Cable

That cable should work for *all* garmin units. I've recently learned that they (Garmin) use an ungrounded signal that doesn't play nice with conventional amps and mixers, and requires an isolation transformer on the signal line. I bought one for $10.

    The FJR as a sportbike

Of course there are better full-on sport bikes. But the FJR isn't a full-on sport bike and anyone thinking they're going to keep up with a TALENTED rider on a full-on sport bike is short sighted. However, if you want to ride your FJR and hang out with the average-ability riders on wickedly fast...

    Centralized electronics for the motorcycle

Centralized electronics setup in a quick release tank bag for my FJR. Pictures and writeup at https://chornbe.com/motorcycles/fjr/electronics/ I'm pretty happy with the way it's turning out.

PS... Give the bike back. Your garage is too clean to *really* be a biker :yahoo:

Thankfully, yes. I can't stop calling stupid people stupid. It's a personality quirk, I guess.

Talk me out of (or into) this.

I can't talk you out of it. I think the Feej is one of the best all-around road bikes ever built. I chose the feej over the CBR and Cruiser I was riding at the time. I unloaded the CBR and the Cruiser is going in Springtime.

    Any Quake/4 players with Macs?

I'm always up for a game. If you've got a Mac and are running the latest patch, let me know. I keep a password-locked server running on one of my boxes.

Man, that am purdy. I'm *NOT* trading my '06 in on an '07 just for the color. Nope. But if I could afford to... I just might. I like it *that* much (and it's not blue).

    FJR Tank Sticker

I went nuts trying to get it off. Finally, I just added the removable tank bag (via Gas Cap Adapter) from SW-Motech. :)

    04 Sans Logos

You should leave it. While I wouldn't want to ride around on the Repsol Honda, I don't see anything wrong with a *little* branding. Besides, then you'll just get all the "Hey, Nice BMW" comments and frankly... that's an insult :D

D&H only has about 10 more...

I might have jumped for that rather than my "A" a few months back when I got mine. That's only about $300 more than I paid for my "A". But, mine was a purchase of opportunity rather than shopping and finding the best deal.
