New PR4 GT rear, now wiggly feeling

I have had 2 PR4 on the rear. Not GT's though. I have not had a problem with any wobble.

    Blipping the Throttle

OK, I actually can understand that. It breaks the clutch plates loose prior to dropping it into 1st. once they are loose, wait 1/2 a second and you avoid the clunk. 'Blip' a little slower and the knock will stop. No idea about the warning point. Though it could be the thred should have been...

    Blipping the Throttle

You are probably opening the throttle to the 'wide open' position in a very small fraction of a second. So, on the very next intake stroke you have zero vacuum, causing instant engine knock. Your ears are not deceiving you, your engine is knocking. If you were to do the same thing at the same...

This Will Be Very Helpful to All Riders

There is a shadow under the bike in that picture. The bike is too tall and narrow for the shadow to be pronounced with the overcast. if you look at the 'outside' of the cars the shadow is just as pronounced as it is around the bike. Sorry Ionbeam, not photoshopped.

This Will Be Very Helpful to All Riders

Well, I do not think the riding a motorcycle should invoke special protections. Not using a spike strip or pit maneuver because an individual chooses to use a mode of transportation that is inherently riskier than the median mode of transportation should NOT make this individual immune from...

Why do you think my FJR's transmission failed?

If you consider the TOTAL number of miles for this entire forum (probably over 50 million, all bikes, all miles) the total number of transmission failures is not that high. The problem is magnified by the nature of this, or any, forum.

    My Dealership Burned Down Tonight

The article said it was the repair shop, I wonder if a recent admission had a problem that caused it?

    Blue led's

That is a state by state issue, same as lane sharing, which is legal here. I will admit a headlight modulator would be better for the stated purpose of getting attention but I don't have one of those either.

    Blue led's

The question I have is could I get a few high powered blue LED's in a fairly flat 'shoulder pad' configuration, permanently attached to my JACKET, not bike, to use on the rare occasion when the freeway is stopped and I am (legally) lane sharing with high beam and 4ways going? Technically it is...

    Dash lights out

With a right angled Phillips scewdriver (preferably ratcheting) you can get the panel screws through the center access panel, under the windshield. That's how I did it.

Damn! Lost my headlights sometime today on Hwy 12 in Utah!

Bikerskier, thanks for the followup post. All too often, after everything is fixed no one says what the problem was.

    Dash lights out

I had the same thing happen. The bulbs are about 6.00 each and are about the size of a grain of rice. The twist lock base is a permanent part of them. Getting your instrument panel out is a pain. 95% likely you just let all 4 bulbs burn out. Two words of advise: 1. Change them as soon as...

    My First Track Day...

ABSOLUTELY AWESOME!! Someday, when I have money, time and tires I will do the same... (dream dream dream) How much did it cost if I may ask?

    Missing Vent Panel Fix?

All in fun inter generational poke follows... WOW, glad I have an Autobahn cammed 2002 AKA Gen-1! On a more serious note, I would definitely go looking for it.

2007 FJR1300A - the Lump (aka engine) is dying

Oops, I was thinking of a different bike engine when I said you had to go through the whole gear train to get to the crank.

2007 FJR1300A - the Lump (aka engine) is dying

Here is the bottom line: Power Commanders and every other "power boosting" addon device make their living lying to your computer to trick it into changing your mixtures. That is why you need to disconnect the oxygen sensor, the computer will not see what it is expecting and go default, often...

    FJRF011: Fast Starter Syndrome

In my experiences, there was the smell of gasoline.

    ABS flashing with brake modulator.

Get rid of the brakelight modulator. It is turning on and off the brakelight, when in is in the "off" position, the system sees the same problem as it did when you had the LED's in the brakelight. There is a very simple rule of thumb that should be poted at the front of this site and just...

    2003 windshield motor........

The faulty micro switch FAILED to turn off the motor at the bottom of its travel limit. Thus it stripped the drive gear, leading to the clicking. (assumptions have been made at this point) You MAY be able to move the switch up to the point that the stripped part is not ever engaged. However...
