My tire wore down on one side more than the other

I seriously doubt this could be the problem. Having owned a few bikes with a single front disc brake I can attest that there is no pull or weird tire wear from using the brake. Ross you out typed me!

Low mpg and slight power degradation

Possible faulty intake air temp sensor or coolant sensor? Either of these could create a rich condition and affect mileage. Have you tried diagnostic mode? These would throw codes 22 and 21 respectively. If the TBs were removed it's likely the airbox was removed and the wiring to sensors was...

Weird handling after GIVI top box

Stock top box, Calsci screen, bags. Riding solo and loaded pretty heavy I noticed a slight weave at indicated 130. Worse at 135, when I chopped throttle and sat up it got pretty scary. I think the Calsci relieves the low pressure zone behind the screen a bit and may extend turbulence past the...

Steel brake lines for Gen 1 ABS

I put stainless steel lines on my '05 abs. It was a chrome plated bitch. 8 lines to install, had to fab a bracket at the steering head. Getting a good bleed on the front brake took days. Small improvement in braking feel up front, no noticeable difference at the rear. They look purty and allowed...

    Just Me and Pop

Your Pop's a lucky guy to have you for an ally in staving off old age. At 60, I sometimes find myself a little too willing to succumb to the chair and the tube. While the "old" me says time may have slowed me down, the determined me says not by very damn much. Thanks for the insightful post and...

Oil Change - Side Stand or Center Stand

Dammit Don, ya Irish knucklehead. Now you've gone and outed me! My forum life will never be the same 'cuz of your superior powers of deductive reasoning. I am, however, willing to put my feelings aside out of respect for Don Carver. Happy Friday !

Oil Change - Side Stand or Center Stand

I've heard about the "********" technique for draining coolant. Anybody discover a similar method for getting that last nasty bit o' oil outta their FJR? Video?

    Seat Lock

This^^^^ I had a Corbin with this issue on my Gen1. The solution for me was to place my knee directly over the seat latch area and apply as much pressure as I could while my wife turned the key. BTW, I weigh 220lbs. Lubed the latch with a small dab of grease, lubed the lock. Also, the...
