    Diablo Stradas

Anyone have a direct comparison to the Avons? I went to Avons and now I don't want to mess with a "good thing." My buddy went to Stradas on his K-RS and he's a happy camper too, but too early to mention durability.

anyone else experienc"wobble" in high speed curves

Suspension settings make a night-and-day difference to me. I've tweaked mine a couple of times and went from wallow to stable. I had to firm up the settings (again) after about 8K miles. I assume that is just my suspension components degenerating?

    Larger size motorcycle footwear???

I don't have an unusual foot size but seeing the recommendations I figured I'd mention I retired a pair of CruiserWorks non-zip Touring boots for the Oxtar Matrix boots. Much more comfortable to me, easier to put on/take off, and NewEnough had a killer price on them.

    What's wrong with HJC?

I don't see anything wrong with an HJC lid. But I chose my 2nd Arai Quantum not because of the high price but rather in spite of it. I picked it 100% based on fit (comfort) compared to every other model I've tried. I really wanted a flip-up Schuberth, based on features, but the chin-bar is...

On spark plugs e.g. splitfire, rapidfire, bosch +4

It depends. Some work. My race club found that Bosch +4 plugs gave a definite slight improvement to C5 Z06 corvette dyno output. We did it in two vehicles with known-good OEM plugs (good gap and visual condition) and the results were repeatable but barely above the dyno's noise-threshold...

    BIKE THIEF!

Part two was useless. How about that interview with a Florida cop? "We have a task force looking for people who aren't comfortable on a bike." Yeah, those pro thieves probably look out of place, eh? Barney Fife!

    Top case with lights?

I've seen an LED light bar retrofit but I don't recall where. Seems like it'd be easy to splice into if you've already wired the Givi kit but I haven't bothered yet. The biggest thing I did to improve rear visibility at night is add that black reflective tape to the bags (bought the e-bay...

    BIKE THIEF!

I'll have to watch. Part one was okay. I liked the line, "$100 per 100 cc's. You want an 600RR? $600." and how the Busa gets a premium ($1500).

While we're on the subject of speed

I ride regularly with a buddy on a K-RS (not the new uber-bike). He's got a Remus pipe and reprogrammed injection (forget if that was just a chip or other technique). Anyway, when he's in his sweet spot, we do this on highway on-ramps, we're darn close for acceleration. He doesn't get away...

    Helicoil or??

+2, I use 'em often at work, and they work!

    HID H4 headlight HI/LO operation

These are great ideas and I hope something works out. That back-and-forth motion capsule looks like the smartest way to do it. Vendor 'Dennis' over at St-N is talking about capsules that have a regular filament for the high beam. That would probably work but then we'd be back to more power...

    Moto Guzzi Norge

I'm thinking they should be showing off more of the motor than just the top of the heads. But my first impression was, gee that looks like a taller FJR!? Guzzi's always cost too much.

    K&N Air Filter

When you do service yours, try not over-oil it. Per their "filter charger" kit you just want to see a uniform red color. I've seen more problems in different vehicles (friends, not mine) due to over-oiling than anything else about them. If excess oil gets onto to any mass-airflow sensor wires...

    VFR vs FJR riding impressions.......

The new-style Goldwings are underappreciated. I've seen a couple of well-ridden ones handle nasty-tight, sandy, wet Malibu canyon roads just fine. My and my buddies (on FJR, ST1300, and K-RS) were all very impressed with their ability to keep up in tight stuff.

    Taillight/brake Light Info Needed

I used a standard automotive replacement for one of my tail bulbs that burnt out early and all has been well. I know a vibration-resistant version is called for but I couldn't get one instantly. So far it has lasted about as long as the original bulb!

Can I have another gear PULEEEASE

I got over my 6th gear thing but what sealed the deal was comparing to my buddies riding a ST1300, VFR, and a K-RS. Our top-gear same-speed RPM is within about +/- 200 and my roll-on still kicks @ss. So why would I need 6th?

New Tom-Tom Rider GPS for Motorcycles

Somewhere on-line, probably one of the big GPS-only review sites, I saw a photo-comparison of screen quality between the major current suppliers and the Tom-Tom was very disappointing by comparison (contrast & brightness). It was not the "Rider" unit so maybe we can hope.

    HID Self Buy

No, no. Your article helped tremendously but I'm talking about the two big relays, real honkers, and the big fat "brain box" (controller?). You sort of wave your hands over placement of those. The relays must be no big deal (don't need airflow) but I know nothing about the brain box.

    HID Self Buy

WC, I for one am very pleased with the value of my high-low kit. My results agree with the others. Opening the high-beam has zero effect on the low-beam and just adds a really wimpy (dim) upper beam. Yep, dimmer than stock. But now that I changed over to 35W HID's I can run non-HID driving...

    Question on helmets

You'll get used to a full-face helmet after a while (I did) and eventually it'll feel just like another piece of armor, comforting. The heat from your FJR won't rise to your head's level, at least mine doesn't. I only feel head-hot on 105+ degree days from heat waves coming off the pavement...
