    GPS

I had one stolen. It was not locked. I now use the Garmin Lock/PIN feature. The hassle of unlocking it is less than the irritation of knowing that some scumbag is using it. If it gets stolen, I'd rather it be trashed than some scumbag using it, or being able to sell it.

    what a mess

They may be the same '05 > '06. Check the Yamaha-Motor.com parts and see if the fuel pump is the same part number -- if it is -- good chance the wiring harness hasn't chaged either. Good luck! EDIT: '06 FJR AE Fuel Pump part number: 5JW-13907-21-00 '05 FJR ABS Fuel Pump part number...

    C14 and FJR comparison

Nice --- bash the guy that figured out the throttle pulley change (copper wire mod) that now is almost a given (G2), designed the GIVI tail light LED for us, and gives the best review of the C14 to the FJR that you may ever get (Fred H. doesn't get paid by a magazine to give his opinion.) what a mess

Don't know about the '05, but here's a pic of the 06' Check the manual, but IIRC: Dark Green Shell is Fuel Pump, Wires are R/L (Red/Blue) and B (Black) White Shell is the Fuel Sender, Wires are G/W (Green White) and B (Black)

I think I'm maxed out, electrically speaking....

Add an additional battery, then go to the automotive store (Advanded, Discount, Napa, etc.) and get a dual battery charging transistor pack. done.

Who's got the most miles on their FJR??

Dang... I'm out... 88000K miles on an '03... lemessee here.... that's 17.6 Million miles each year for 5 years. ...That's 2,007.76 MPH consistently for 24 hours a day, 365.25 days a year for 5 years.... Mine won't go that fast. Maybe I need to get new pipes or something.

New mileage record on a single tank of gas

Perhaps not the best plan for a fuel injected motorcycle.

    How to beat radar traps...

interesting post ponyfool! Also -- I believe that if the speeder is a habitual speed freak -- Bad things will eventually catch up (jail, wrecks, or worse) eventually no matter how fast you can go. (BTW -- if you're fast and smart -- track days are the way to go! off the street, and much safer)

    Got screwed on Thursday

At least you got home ok -- I got stranded Clicky ended up being this in the tire: Never did figure out what it was -- but it ended up completely inside the tire! The other oddest thing I've gotten a flat from was a 10" screw bit similar to this one:

    Throttle Control

Yes -- I have the G2 on an 06AE -- works fine. I also have Throttlemeisters (G2, Heated Grips, AND Throttlemeisters) no problems. Search for details on the wirining orientation before removing the throttle assembly -- it will save you a world of time and grief!

    Track day insurance

I don't know about all policies -- but from my experience: If you're at a Track Day, or Racing -- your policy won't cover accidents. If you're at an advanced rider training, or MSF, or defensive rider course -- your policy should cover accidents. You gotta check your policy carefully.

    dealers and recalls

IMHO -- your dealer is just nuts. When I got the memo for the AE shifter 'reliability enhancement' (not a safety recall) -- my dealer ordered the parts THEN scheduled me to come in for the service when the parts were at the dealership. (Ward's Yamaha in Troy, AL)

    Frank has issues

I'll take a WAG that the sensor's are stuck in the exhaust pipe exits -- hense -- 1&2 measured then 3&4 (move the sensor from one side to the other. To get all 4 seperate -- you'd have to have access to individual exhaust pipes, and I'm not certain -- but I don't believe there's access on the...
