    More than one bike?

I love my SV...still a blast to ride. Apples and oranges really. What the SV lacks in raw hp it makes up for in the nimble dept. It was the LD/2up capability and looks that attracted me to the FJR. I really don't need 120+ rwhp from a bike that I essentially use for a touring rig...although I...

Rider to Passenger Communication with radio

We used the Teamset for the first time this weekend and it worked fine. I don't have a bluetooth phone or gps so I can't comment on that function.

    Tourmaster pants

I use the GX Air jacket and Venture Air pants. Oddly, the jacket sizes run large and the pants run small.

    wrestled the centerstand

I'm 5'6" and 160 w/gear and it goes on the stand fairly easy for me. I'm wondering if your height may actually make it more difficult. The handle is pretty low so I imagine you have to bend down some to use it. Once you figure it out you'll say "duh".

    PCIII installed

I'll install new plugs this week. I might as well do the TB tweak while I have the hood up. On a side note, I came in at over 47mpg...mixed/moderate riding. This is encouraging in that it leaves some margn for further enrichening without significant range reduction.

    Highway Barriers

Same here in Ohio. They talk the talk about making roads safer for bikes, but that's all it is...talk.

    PCIII installed

The bike has 6800 miles on it and the O2 sensor is disconnected. I suspect the plugs and caps are fine but may check them for piece of mind.

    PCIII installed

First, thanks to all the folks who have provided their customized maps and wealth of information on this subject. Last week I did the TBS, TPS adjustment and checked for connector problems, but still had surge issues. I installed the PCIII today and tried the -001, -008 and -bonestock maps. The...

    steering head sockets

So I guess you'll be retiring soon with the massive profits from these. 26 bucks is a bargain. I've made a few specialty sockets myself. Chassis sockets

For second bike ,Good cheap older bike , which one

An older (80's) GS*** Suzuki might be a good choice. As I recall, some are shaft drive too.

Need route planning help around Ambassador bridge

Sorry for the threadjack, but how does one go about acquiring a Derbi? I can't seem to find an online reference to US dealers. Canada perhaps?

Top 100 ugliest motorcycles in history

Opinions are like ***holes...everybody has one. I agree with rushes, there are only a handful of bikes I would consider ugly. And even they might not be that offensive once in the pilots seat.

I picked these up at a flea market a few years back and use the heck out of 'em.

Warm weather coming - tar snake time

As I recall, there was some discussion a few years back between motorcycle safety advocates and ODOT on the issue of tar snakes. The state said they would "look into it". As far as I know they swept it under their giant rug with all the other bike related safety concerns they choose to ignore...

GPS, Worth the $$$ or not?

I use a cheapy GPS in a medium Ram Aquabox mounted to the clutch perch. Using the touchscreen thru the flexible cover works better than I expected.

    Time for a new jacket

I've been wearing a Cortech GX Air mesh jacket for a couple of years. I haven't crash tested it, but so far I'm pleased with its performance. In fact, I recently picked one up for my wife (closeout-Iron Pony-$130). The liners make it good for 40~90+ deg riding and there is leather on the...

    120/60 front tire

I thought the oem's looked pretty good for 6K, but closer inspection proved otherwise so new skins moved to the top of the priority list. Would switching to a 60 series front tire be an issue? I'm installing Koubalinks and thought the reduced diameter might be beneficial.

The Secret SV-650/1000 Suzuki Owners Society

Here's mine. Not many mods...Buell pegs, touring windscreen, fenda extenda and a few cosmetic items. The SV has to be in the all-time top ten list for the most "smiles per dollar".
