I started out on an FZ6. It is a very good bike to start on if you have self control (sounds like you do) since it isn't a slouch in the speed dept. Once you get above about 7k rpm it will open up and run, but below that it is very tame.

Finally got the sliders installed on the bike. They look great and hopefully they will stay that way. :glare: (yes, I know the bike is still dirty from this weekend)

I have one on my '06 as well. The color match looks good most of the time but at certain angles or certain lights the bra looks very purple against the paint. I gave up on trying to get it to fit right, so I cut mine into 3 pieces and trimmed it until it layed down flat. Works good now.

I think prices vary quite a bit but I wouldn't pay more than MSRP for one. Delivery (assuming they aren't shipping the bike to you) should be part of the sales price and set up is something that varies again. Most dealers will probably charge a set up fee and it is up to you to negotiate it...

I haven't noticed any excess heat. I never rode a previous model though so I can't tell you if it is all that different or if I just have a high tolerance. I would expect some heat since I am straddling a 1300 cc motor incased in plastic though. :P When summer comes around here it doesn't...

That sounds good to me. I don't personally get that detailed but I get the bug guts off and keep everything looking clean. Just use an automotive soap instead of tide or dishwashing liquid.

5 mph isn't too bad compared with my last FZ6. It would indicate 80 and GPS would read 73 and at an indicated 100 I would only be going 88. I am completely happy with my '06. :D
