    Avon Storm

+1 on the Storms. Got mine from SWMoto last Wed. (ordered Mon. and received Wed. in TN). All I can say is they are GREAT! Best tire I have ever run on any of my bikes...ever. Got them mounted Sat. and I balanced them without having to use lots of weight. Scrubbed them in Sat. PM and went to...

    Rx riding sunglasses...

Next time you get new glasses look for some that come with the clip-on sunglasses. I got mine at Dr. Bizers with my regular glasses...well actually got 2 sets of sun glasses...one for the bike and one set for the car. They came with their own little case and they are polarized too. Fjrtn

    Autocom output quality

+1 on what tripletango said. Speaker positioning makes a HUGE difference in overall sound quality...irregardless of brand. Fjrtn

    Autocom output quality

Dan: Don't intend to hi-jack your thread  But, this was the first topic I have run across where Autocom and audio output had been discussed at all. I understand what you are after and it looks like the first example might work for you. And, the price doesn't seem to be exorbitant...

    Autocom output quality

Thanks for the info Bob and Bill. Bob - I have an Autocom...believe it is a Pro 7 model (best model before last years new upgrade)...and would like to know how hard it is to go into the unit and adjust the volume. Are the "internal volume adjusters" easy to locate and adjust? Bill - This...

    Autocom output quality

Dan: Read your post with interest. I to have an Autocom which I run my radar detector, radios (CB or FRS), iPod, cell phone and GPS (Magellan RoadMate 2000T) through. My problem is with my GPS and the level of sound (volume) that I can get to my helmet speakers from the audio out jack of the...

Another FJR on Killboy front page.

Hey everyone, that's my son on his '05 FJR. We took a nice Sunday afternoon ride, from Morristown and Knoxville, TN, over to the Dragon and back for a Dragon Burger. We went over the Foothills Parkway from Maryville to Hwy. 129. Traffic was the worst I've seen on the Parkway due to all the...

10 Day Trip - Which Direction to Head?

Thanks for all the feedback guys :clapping: . Decisions...decisions...will probably just do whatever the wife says anyway (you know what I mean) ;) . New GPS (Magellan RoadMate 2000T) from James at Auto Nav 2000 should be here Monday. Hope I can figure out how to use it before we leave...

10 Day Trip - Which Direction to Head?

Thanks guys for all the comments so far! Please keep'em coming :clapping: . Yea brazos, I love that area of the country for riding too. By the way, was up in Johnson City yesterday on a little jaunt with one of my Hardley riding buddies. The leaves up higher on I26 towards Ashville were...

10 Day Trip - Which Direction to Head?

First of all, I'm not sure where the appropriate place to post this question is. I'm sure the board patrol will move it to it's proper place if it doesn't belong here ;) . Anyway, a little help from my fellow FJR owners would be appreciated. The scenario is: My wife has lots of vacation...

    HEATED GRIPS

airboss: Appreciate the info. I ordered my hand "knuckle" guards from Ron Ayers today. I'll do the heat stretch that you recommend...very carefully ;) . Looks like my grip heaters are putting out as much heat as everyone else's. Should be nice and warm with the heaters and hand guard...

GPS Group buy membership for Zumo or any other GPS

04FJR4ME: Thanks for your generous offer! I would be interested in getting a GPS. Guess I'm from the "old school" and never even used a paper map much when traveling. Never worried much about getting lost while on the motorcycle. I'd just tell my wife that we were "Touring". ;) However...

    HEATED GRIPS

airboss: Read your post with interest since I have been trying to find out if the V-Strom hand guards will work with the Big Bike Parts grip heaters (I have the grip heaters and want to install the hand guards too) since they are longer than the OEM grips. So then, your hand guards obviously...

    VStrom hand guard question

Thanks for your feedback Radman. Would you have any clue as to whether or not the hand guards would work with the longer than OEM "Big Bike Parts" grip heaters (they are 5 3/4" long according to their website...but I have not measured mine)? Fjrtn

    VStrom hand guard question

Bump up. :clapping: Also, see FJRFencers post about Big Bike Parts grip heaters over on the "Parts and Accessories" section of the forum. Is there any way to get more heat out of these things???? :yahoo: Fjrtn

    VStrom hand guard question

A little help please. Does anyone know...or has anyone done...the V-Strom hand guard install with the Big Bike Parts heated grips installed (they are really for the Goldwing GL1800 but will fit the FJR). I'm concerned that the hand guards won't fit properly with the heated grips since they are...

    FJR Exhaust

D&D's for a 03-05 FJR WILL NOT FIT on the '06. The mounting brackets on the D&D's are shaped wrong to fit the mounting arm position holes on the '06. I ordered a set for my '06 and had to return them for a set of Two Brothers Racing cans which fit fine (as many others will do too). Fjrtn

    Tery riley footpegs

Yes, they work fine. Have had them on my bike for around 6,000 miles without any problems. Fjrtn
