    November Ride

I'm glad to have met everyone. Sorry to have missed so much, but I had to make an appointment in the afternoon back in Atlanta. Thanks for setting up the ride. It is truly a beautiful riding area. Glad the Pickens County boys missed their revenue quota!

    Hit & Run Accident

I'm glad you made through this horrible incident with just a few injuries. It sounds as though you are comparatively lucky. Good luck on healing quickly and getting back to your normal condition. I've been there with the leg (2 times) so get good on those crutches. You'll be fast on your...

Sticking brakes of pad change + new rotors

dgfella, You might try a trick of the trade used by roadracers. After having the pistons pushed back into the caliper; start actuating the brake lever with very tiny movements and plan on having to complete several hundred actuations before the brakes pads are fully engaged against the rotor...

    November Ride

Sounds like a great ride plan. I'll look forward to more information as it develops. I spent some time looking at possible routes the other night and there are many fantastic roads in the area. The climb north from the SC Foothills toward the ridge of the BRP creates some great elevation...

    GPS Bin-o Facts

Brian, I can't tell if there is a difference. Firefox remembers every website for which I have a log on name and password and prefills the entries upon opening the website. Your revised link seemed to act as normal. There is a lot of generalized gps instruction on zumoforums; so I think it...

    GPS Bin-o Facts

Sorry guys! I have repaired the links in my original multi-link post above. They are all now working for me using Firefox. I have also asked FJRONAMISSION to remove the copied section of my original post as the copy contains the defective links. Enjoy the referenced websites.

    GPS Bin-o Facts

Brian, I like your idea for a GPS area on the Forum. Like many, I struggled with Garmin manuals, ZumoForums, and other resources to learn how to use my Zumo 550. After lots of study, I can now make routes fairly quickly and also can use some other software for route creation with subsequent...

North Georgia FJR Rally!! Mark your calendar!

I'm sorry to hear that you are injured and wish you a fast recovery. We did have a great time. There was some good food, good drinks, good company, and good roads. It was a hell of a combination and we oughta do it again next year-the more the merrier!

    Georgia FJR Riders Group

Many of us do our own maintenance. Oil changes are an absolute piece of cake. I remove one bolt on the lower fairing, cover the lower fairing with aluminum foil, drain the oil, and then remove the filter. The center stand allows for easy tire changes, as well. While I bought the manual for...

    Ga. FJR Rally, TWO, Suches

Damn! I looked HARD for a sign of needing help. All I got was friendly waves from your buddies. They were having a hell of a good time watching you work. Besides, we were rolllllling down hill and I didn't know if the herd would stop for howdies. At the Clayton gas stop, there were...

    Home Safe from GA Rally

Whoah, I can't compete with Ed's pictures in Images and Videos, either. But I do have a couple of MrTwisty and MrsTwisty coming in on their FJRWinnebago. I had a great time and hope we can make it an annual event. October is a fantastic time to ride in the N GA mountains and its nearby...

    Metzeler Z6

Tire performance is very much subject to usage patterns. I tend to ride at what I call a sporting pace. Original Metz 6's gave me 6,455 (F) and 5,170 ® with most of the mileage being interstates on a trip to the Hill Country of Texas. Grip is rated at 3. Michelin Sport Pilot (F) and a...

North Georgia FJR Rally!! Mark your calendar!

If you're looking at NightyNightAdvanced, keep in mind that many of the roads are goat trails or forest roads. I'm glad you could convert them. Jeff recommended gpsbabel and it worked for me on some files.

    Dunlop Road Smarts -HOLY CHRIST!!!

I did not experience any extra difficulty in mounting my RoadSmarts. One "tool" I have used to good effect is an old 17" car wheel. I use it while breaking the tire bead with my JC Whitney bead breaker and while dismounting and mounting the the tires using tire irons or spoons. With a length...
