08 FJR R&R Clutch Plate Soak

I was riding with 3 FL Harleys and a BMW tourer..Being that we accelerated gradually up to cruising speed of 70-85 and the wind was generally in the direction we were traveling, my overall average going down was..52.3mpg. Coming back was about 46mpg.

08 FJR R&R Clutch Plate Soak

One point regarding the steel discs. They are die cut and have a sharp side and a rounded side. My clutch was installed with the sharp sides facing out. Always re-install the plates all facing the same direction.

    Sticking clutch

    Am I lugging it?

Good post..Although I have an 07' 1300A, I shift my other bikes without the clutch at times and the key to smooth shifts are a quick roll-off and shift when acceleration is tapering for the amount of throttle you are using. In other words, don't shift while still under a heavy or even moderate...

    Bummed! first test sit!

I have a 36" inseam and as you might think, no problem flat footing my FJR. My problem was that most bikes don't have sufficient seat to peg room for me. The FJR seems really comfy so far....I would recommend researching all of the options you have to help this bike fit you.

Rode my new 07' home yesterday!

I got what might have been the last 07' on Long Island. Traded my red 06 Warrior and got out the door for $4500 Not too bad considering the Warrior was in need of tires. I'll post some pics soon :yahoo:
