Motorcycle For Sale 2008 Gen2 For Sale - Prescott AZ Tons of Extras. Price Drop

Just giving the ad a Bump. Just in case anyone is on the fence, I guess I should note how the bike has been maintained, which is to say pretty damn good. I've religiously done all the normal stuff over the years at recommended intervals (3K oil/filter changes, brake/clutch fluid flush's...

Motorcycle For Sale 2008 Gen2 For Sale - Prescott AZ Tons of Extras. Price Drop

Realizing there is some initial $$ to put into the bike, I've dropped the price to accommodate that. If it doesn't sell, I'll probably spend the winter pulling as much after market stuff off I can and trade it in.

Motorcycle For Sale 2008 Gen2 For Sale - Prescott AZ Tons of Extras. Price Drop

Selling the FJR, or trying at least. Time to move on to something else. Currently at 51,595 miles. I've owned it since basically new (bought in 2009 with only 600 miles on it). I've performed most all maintenance except valve checks (last performed at 25K with no changes required). CCT has been...

    Plug wire/connector separation...

What RossKean said, plus take a good look inside the boot at the "skinny spiral spike" and make sure its not corroded. I recently trimmed all my wires and had to replace a boot ....and long story short, one of the boots I bought off ebay was corroded to the point of the "spiral spike" inside the...

    Fueling Issue Poll

Yeah, for a while I was thinking of taking the longer #1 wire from the spare set I bought and replacing the existing #3 but threading that through from the coil was going to be a hassle. The more I looked and fiddled with it, I found a routing that worked :)

    Fueling Issue Poll

Update. Appears we have SUCCESS. A half hour ride yesterday produced no indication with throttle response very linear and smooth. So, what was the cause? Considering how long I've been experiencing the issue, I would have to say primary cause was the spark plug wire connections in the boots...

    Fueling Issue Poll

No, valve adjustment at 36K was done by the dealer. I did change out the CCT but made sure nothing moved in that process. Yep, of course. Brain fade moment. Amazing how the cost of those boots has gone up. Some posts I've read from a couple years ago they were only $50 each.

    Fueling Issue Poll

So, an update. The tank swap from SkooterG seemed to indicate it wasn't related to the fuel pump or fuel pump relay as it still exhibited signs during that test. In talking with Jack at roadstercycles, he didn't think it was related to the charging situation, and to test that, he said to...

    Fueling Issue Poll

Well, Thanks to SkooterG for taking the time to perform a tank swap, but that DIDN'T solve the problem. This would indicate its not the Fuel Pump or the FP Regulator. So not sure where to go from here. Interesting thing we played with while there was related to the elec charging system. While...

    Fueling Issue Poll

Well, Appears removing the CA emission stuff didn't solve the problem. Incoming PM to SkooterG for a tank swap to see if it's related to Fuel Pump or FP regulator.

    Fueling Issue Poll

Geez, what a saga! Better than a Clancy novel. I'm working on removing the evap system, have cleaned out all the air lines (found them to be free and clear), have raised my idle a tad to 1150-1200 (can't get to precise by just using the tach), and will perform another TB Synch. Then I'll ride...

    Fueling Issue Poll

OK, so, a lot of suggestions here.....Thanks everyone. To answer some of the questions posed in the various replies -Valve check was last performed at 36K. No issues or adjustments were necessary. -Doesn't seem to matter warm or cold. It's intermittent but is happening more frequently since it...

    Fueling Issue Poll

OK, so I've been trying to resolve a fueling issue for a year now. The intermittent, although has gotten progressively worse, stumble/hesitation/cough coming off 0% throttle. Once you get to about 20-30% all is good. I'm plugging away at the various causes, but haven't found the cure...

Gen II Diagnostic Mode and d09 reading

Thanks. The more bothersome part to me about the d:09 is that the display should be showing 12.0 but mine shows 0.0 In regards to the Fault 14 code, I'll go in and clean out the lines, but after the initial problem, the bike started working and running fine. It seems to have corrected itself...

Gen II Diagnostic Mode and d09 reading

In researching a fault code 14 issue, I was running thru the Diagnostics for the first time ever, which means I've never had a check engine light come on or any other reason to go in there. So, when going thru all the different checks to verify the readings, I get to d:09 and it shows 0.0 (...
