    Wheels paint.?

I think I jinksed myself, instead of riding this morning, I'm watching it rain.

    Wheels paint.?

Powder coating sounds cool, but I think I'll go riding on my original colors rather than spend time with powder coating. I guess if I lived up north where it's starting to get cold and had a couple hundred bucks to spare, it would look good to make them Yamaha blue to match the bike.

05' Do I really need a new fuel pump?

I got the tank o-ring today. put it all back together during lunch. Then went for a test ride. It seems to be holding. Thanks for all the help, especially RadioHowie and Joe2lmaker.

Frankenbike 3 days on the road...

Way to go Howie!!! I think you should enjoy your victory and go riding. Save the high beam indicator for another day.

05' Do I really need a new fuel pump?

Well the pump went back together and back in the tank easy enough, but.... There had to be a but. Now the seal where the pump mounts to the tank leaks. I guess I should have replaced it while I was in there. Maybe I pinched it on my first hurried attempt to put it together. Either way it's not...

05' Do I really need a new fuel pump?

I picked up a new o-ring today (99% sure it is the right size). I will put it all back together tonight, after another inspection of the fitting to make sure there is no crack. No matter what happens, thanks for all your replies.

05' Do I really need a new fuel pump?

I got the pump out and the o-ring. it only took 4 jewelers screwdrivers and a few attempts to get that nipple and o-ring, and a few cus words. I'm going to try to find an o-ring tomorrow, and if no luck, then I will buy a used Gen I pump.

I found a pump on ebay for $85 from an 04' (not sure if it is the same as 05') and an 05' pump for $175.

05' Do I really need a new fuel pump?

OK, It's obvious now. Good news, it is the bottom/return nipple. I also figured out what "FNG" stands for. I guess I'm a little smarter after I eat.

05' Do I really need a new fuel pump?

I have the tank off now, it wasn't obvious which one is leaking. Had to stop for dinner, didn't want to stop, but have to keep the wife happy. I'll inspect it closer after chow.

05' Do I really need a new fuel pump?

Thanks, Ill try some of those. As for how it happened. My guess is the other day, when I was doing wheelies might have done it, even though I never set the front down real hard.

05' Do I really need a new fuel pump?

I noticed fuel leaking from under the tank. My thought process was take it to the shop and if it's an easy fix, I'm out an hour or two labor. If its more complicated....... well. They said it is the fuel pump that is leaking. Its only a plastic "stem" like piece that is leaking, but I can't just...
