Do you “Hang Off” your FJR ??????

Sadly I didn't even have an FJR when this thread was going. I also don't spend tons of time on the forum so I tend to miss things. Besides I like reviving old threads for others like me.

Do you “Hang Off” your FJR ??????

Yes I hang off, way off. I do this all the time because I like the extra safety margin it provides while cornering, and it easier to recover from the bike bucking on you from traction lose or other things when your hung off due to the lower center of gravity and it being on the inside of the...

Who was draggin' a bag on the Dragon?

I didn't read all 7 pages of post here so it maybe a repeat of something said already. Setup right the FJR is a very capable machine but if your dragging bags your crashing. I drag knee because I touch knee about a degree before I drag peg and I want to know when it is going to touch down. Here...

    Isn't it cool when...

Isn't cool when your riding on your favorite twisty road and checking your mirror you see a few ricky racers coming up fast and you just roll on the throttle, stick your knee, and after a few turns you don't see them behind you anymore?

Looking for durable practical motorcycle type boots

I would suggest a set of Dainese Torques. The fit amazing from day one, I can walk in them all day, simple single zipper, look great, nice enough to wear out. I'm told that they can be resoled too but not sure about that.

I almost darwined my recently aquired FJR

Yeah, I'm good at wrenching so if it isnt covered by my YES then I'll do it myself I guess. I really don't want to have to take it apart again. It gets old fast taking it apart over and over again. Anyways I'm got to go burp the cooling system. its been running hot in town since I pulled it...

I almost darwined my recently aquired FJR

Well I got it back together and took it on a shakedown ride to the local dealer to have the friendly techs there listen to it. Great guys over at mission motor sports. They had two techs come listen to it, one was a master tech, and they both say its my cam chain making the noise. They both...

I almost darwined my recently aquired FJR

make damn sure it's not the sound of the CCT (cam chain tensioner) letting go or you will be needing a new engine kinda like marbles in a can coming from the right side of the engine Pretty sure it isn't, only present around the 3k make seems more on left side but hard to pin point. I checked...

I almost darwined my recently aquired FJR

Ok I fired it up today to make sure that the cooling tube o-rings had set right in top of head, which they hadn't, and got alot of blue smoke out tail pipes. It did stop smoking after a bit so It might be because I had just changed the oil and may have over filled it so IDK if its...

I picked me up a 03 FJR with 26k on the dial and no history, recall stuff was done, but no service record. :help: So the first thing i did to this used treasure was to replace the battery followed by a 26k service, and doing everything else too. valve were great, spark plugs needed...
