Final gear oil leak on my rim

I hope that's the case for me as well. I'll take some oil out and see. When I took the filler bolt out, there indeed was too much oil that it trickled over. I saw your thread about front shake. I have the shake around 50 mph. Have you resolved this issue?

Final gear oil leak on my rim

You may be right, but shouldn't oil out of the breather hole in that case, not through the side?

Final gear oil leak on my rim

I noticed a leak that appears to be coming from one side of the round gray plastic thingy that goes around the final drive gear assembly or the pumpkin. I guess this plastic thing is a oil seal? I inspected the side where oil is seeping out and noticed that there's a play there indicating a tear...

Tried a couple of BMWs glad to keep the FJR

Touch Up Paint for 06 Cobalt Blue FJR

Thanks for the advice. Somehow, I knew the solution wasn't going to be simple or cheap. I wonder if there're sidebag covers designed to prevent scratches for FJR. I know they do have them for ST1300's.

Touch Up Paint for 06 Cobalt Blue FJR

I had good long ride yesterday on Virginia and West Virginia mountain roads - 9hrs with a lunch break in between and 450 miles total. Nice twisties in WV especially! At lower altitudes, it registed up to 100 degrees but I was comfortable in my Fieldshear mesh jacket and pants. In the mountain...
