SOLD - Used Dauntless Gen 2 trailer hitch

I'd be interested at $150 shipped. UPS ground probably cheaper than you think.

Blue Ridge Parkway and Skyline Drive in One Day. Realistic? Stupid?

I did the BRP in one solid day on my Road Star Warrior last June. I started at a leisurely 8am and made Cherokee just after dark at 10pm. Weather was perfect. This time of year sunset is much earlier and you'll need two days. The following day I got up and rode to Robbinsville in the rain, the...

My thoughts after 42k and 5 years on Matilda (mostly about farkles)

Oh, gotcha. The previous owner pulled the lowering brackets before I picked the bike up. If (ok, when) I start bolting things on and the missus starts complaining of knee cramps, I'll look at those. How tall is your usual passenger? BTW, I am maybe 2 hours south of you in Middlesex County...

Stuffing a Gen II FJR into a 99 Grand Caravan

This is why folks own pickups. I suggest beg-borrow-steal. That said, the VA DMV gives bonafide license plates when you order personalized plates. I'll send you my plate good thru October for a small fee. B) Just meet me in the alley in 10 minutes.

My thoughts after 42k and 5 years on Matilda (mostly about farkles)

Jim, fantastic post. This is just the kind of stuff us FJR FNG's come here to read. :thumbsupsmileyanim: Re: passenger pegs: Do you just have longer pegs, or are you using the lowering dog bones?

    Building a motorcycle lift... anyone????

I've also got one of those mini lifts, perfect for those of us that don't have the luxury of space for a fullsize table. I'm doing a complete rebuild of my yx600 on that thing cranked all the way up. Very stable. VERY heavy for the small size of it.

Bringing that average owner age down!

I started my midlife crisis at 20... I had no way of knowing that I'd live til 80, and didn't want to wait til 40 to start having all the fun. Har!

Bringing that average owner age down!

I'm trying to pull the average age down too... I've had my FJR for a little over a month and will turn a crusty 28 in two weeks. <_< I started at 20 on a 450-lb, 55hp Yx600. As my first mount, it seemed like an incredibly heavy bike to push around, but it had a low seat height (even...

Where to get the "Yamaha" label?

I noticed last week when I took the cover off, that the tuning fork logo on the topcase had slid down about an inch and the right bag logo was gone. I guess they just can't handle the heat. :(

    Vetter Magic Seat Board

Those around boats would know it as King Starboard, or HDPE (High Density PolyEthylene). Simply put, it's plastic lumber. Quite a bit more durable than PVC lumber.

    Vetter Magic Seat Board

I think the reason that it ended up in Craig's Bad Ideas page would be more obvious:. Sure, it's only for long distance stretches... but all of us have had to come to a sudden stop on a highway/freeway because of some idiot cager/deer/etc. You're doing 80 on I95, have to slam on the brakes...

    New To Me 2005 ABS

I didn't know that about the gearing, but I do know there is a bit of angst here between the GenI and GenII'ers. The only thing I've ridden that could smoke this was the old Duc... but I wouldn't own another one of those. If Yamaha ever makes a V-twin sport bike, I'm there. I'm definately...

    Your not helping.

Crispy, I'm just north of you in Middlesex county. I don't know what year/price range you are looking for, but as I just bought mine recently, I can send you a spreadsheet of every craigslist FJR between Miami and NYC under 7k.

    New To Me 2005 ABS

Congrats on your purchase; that sounds like a great setup with all those acc's. I've had my '06 for about a week and a half. Before my group ride Sunday, it was the envy of the group... at least those that could flat-foot it! :P I thought the rear shock setting was a personal preference...

    Average age of FJR owners

Looks like I am the third youngest here at 27. I've been riding since the YX600 I bought when I was 20. Bought the Ducati ST2 because I wanted something reliable (ha, not quite), then blew my knee and had to sell. Bought the Warrior so I could stretch the knees. Bought the FJR to do more...

    Pain in the neck/shoulder

If I find my neck hurting, I realize that I am leaning to far forward. When you lean forward, you have to look up to see forward. So I'll scootch my butt forward, arch my back a tad, sit up straight, and tuck my chin down. This makes sure the weight is off my arms and my neck is relaxed. It was...

WynPro, Ram-Bone Mount, I've got BALLS

I wasn't aware that there was a RAM that fit the 200W, thanks Fred. So given that, there's not much point in your making up a special item for me. When I get some funds, I'll try to get back to you for your regular Bone.

    Bought an 06!

The '88 YX600 was my first bike, and went through a few tumbles before I got my license. I ended up disassembling it, having a pearl blue custom-mixed to match modern Yamaha paint, and buying an '86 for parts... which i ended up riding for another year after that. I got the CB750 for free from...

WynPro, Ram-Bone Mount, I've got BALLS

I read the whole thread before i posted, so forgive me if you've answered this: Are you able to make the Rambone with the smaller ball size that fits the Nuvi mounts?

    Bought an 06!

Hi Bob, yeah, I am enjoying it so far. ^_^ I'm coming off a big V-twin, so the vibration was lower frequency, even if it was 5x the amplitude. This is much more WIIIIIINGGGG and much less BLLLLAAAAAAPPPPPP. Maybe I didn't say that right about the suspension: I am VERY happy...
