Heck, I did a 566 mile day on my Paul Smart during Moto GP week. No problems at all. A 1098 is like a recliner compared to the Smart. I had originally planned to try about 300 and go from there. I could have easily gone farther.

I spent 400 miles adjusting settings. Seems like the advance actually has more adjustability then the digital. If I don't get the digital dialed in maybe I'll try the Advance1.

Thats one of the problems with the Digital system. Your choices are either Hi,lo or off. I've tried every combination with the same results. At lower speeds it's okay, but once on the freeway forget it. Although I'm using the tall Yamaha windshield, I'm really hoping that a taller one will...

Nice install. I installed my PTT switch on the bottom as well. Much easier to use your thumb on it in that position. Very interested in hearing your impressions of how well the unit works with a pillion at speed.

I have both the 700 and the 1000 as well. Both the same size. My Visor doesn't rattle either. I really like the 1000 and would buy another one. I just cant get into spending 500 bucks for a helmet.

Vox does come into play. There is no way to set the mic on the digital at 20% and when you set the mics for "Off" it actually does just the opposite of what your saying. Your supposed to set it for "Hi" when there is alot of wind noise. "off" actually has the mics on all the time. I have the PTT...

yeah, thats the problem. I've tried hi and lo and it doesn't work. Off just means the mic is on constantly, so there is no way to even just turn the damn thing off. Maybe getting the digital version wasn't the best idea. FWIW, mine works perfectly in the garage also. ;)

I feel your pain. My 04 was recently damaged. It got hit right at the left staintune and basically all the left side bodywork, the rear cowl, luggage rack and left pannier need replacing. With a $5500 estimate, the Ins has already told me they want to total it. I rode it almost 600 miles back...
