I use distilled on everything. If you plan to keep it for a long time I think it's a good idea. I have 144000 on my fjr and over 100000 on all my vehicles so I'm concerned with longevity. YMMV.

I only have 143,000. But I'll keep working at it! Ron I now have 150110 so I made the 150000 list!

139 thousand and change. Still enjoy the bike but I need to be able to run my Gerbings gear in the winter. No major problems (knock wood). If I do the swap I will post up the results. Ron

Has anyone tried to install a Gen II Stator, Rotor and Rectifier in a Gen I FJR? I would like to do it but if someone has tried and run into problems then I won't waste my time. I had a Electrosport stator but it only lasted about 40,000 miles. I was hoping to get more life out of an OEM set-up.

I have the recall mount and it is cracking. As far as putting weight against it I think it should be able to handle that. Don't sell a back rest pad for it if you don't want people to lean against it. I never have a passenger on when I use the trunk. I am not impressed with Yamaha's trunk.
