People always ask me why I got a ST bike

Hijack or no - if you have a golf club backpack style bag w/a top cover just put it on and drive away. Travels well up to about 70mph and the looks are priceless

FJR Top Box ( Impressed) Givi is good stuff but

You gotta love a box that you can hear pressurize when you stick something in it. It's tight. The top box ain't bad either.

    Bridgestones Suck

Got about 7k out of my OEM stones but they seemed like they never got planted, trust issues in the corners. Put on Pilot Power E2c's on last fall and they are unbelievable - but not sure how the long they will last. They are dual compound so that should be good.

    Got Horsepower?

Sold, one PCIII. With an AE the control becomes even more important.

    FJR Auto

+1 on the rear brake - just got back from Deals gap 4/7 (ya, the cold, nasty, record breaking weekend with snow in NC when I woke up at the Deals Gap motel) and the the finger shifting is awesome. It can get a little lashy (drive line) so you have to pay more attention to throttle control...

    Throttle Lock with Heated Grips.

I just put a throttlemeister on also - although I had to insert a blunt object between the grip and the plastic handle underneath to stretch the grip and break the adhesive so I could get the friction ring in. Rolling up the grip as they state in the instructions ain't gonna happen with the...

    Southern Indiana Doo Dah

So the Castlebury is a work in progress - They have been restoring it if you are into the B & B thing. Another 6 months and it will be pretty cool - IndianaTom was right - not much in that town but a cool little place - one block off of St. Rd. 66 - Speaking of which...... this is a must drive...

Stop is at a B and B near the Abby in Cannelton ( https://www.bbonline.com/in/castlebury/rooms.html ) now if only they will return my phone call........ Just got the bike...

    '06 AE Clutch Report

It's a different system. Throttling while feathering rear brake makes it easier. You want to be doing u-turns at engagement point, not idle. +1 on about being slightly on the throttle with a little rear brake. The throttle brake combo replaces the clutch/front brake combo for a lock out...

    Oooooooo, that smell..........

Thanks Everybody, it's starting to warm up outside, so I'll let'er cook a while longer and see where I end up. On the foam, I've still got it if I need to stick in back between the lower cowl and the tranny. It's a block of grey stuff about 2"x2"X5". Won't know if the cowl makes a racket till...

    Oooooooo, that smell..........

Ya, think I found some foam at the back end of the lower cowl that I didn't think should have been there. Pulled that out.

    Oooooooo, that smell..........

Possible. If there was one it's fodder for the state fair now. Just need the stick. I will have it checked out at the break in check up - Thanks for the thought

    Oooooooo, that smell..........

Took delivery of my 06AE in January, and outside of a difficult time getting my break in miles in due to weather this past month in Indiana, the only thing I am noticing is a noxious smell. I did have some white smoke coming out of the right can after the first few runs - don't know if it is...

So you thought your FJR was fast?

The real plug for us biker types is that the 0-60 on this is 2.5 seconds - which MATCHES my stock blackbird. The FJR does around 2.8 0-60 stock - pretty good deal for $1,188,000 savings!!! B)

    07 AE Model

+1 on needing an 07 - same as 06 - I got an ebay "buy it now" AE for $11.6K a month ago - had to go to Missouri to get it but what a deal....so far so good on the bike.....

    Two bars

Was wearing a first gear kilomenjaro w/liner and first gear pants - only juice was in the heated grips on the AE (which are great by the way). Wish I had a neck gaiter for the ride down - put one on for the ride back. Found a great pair of head ski gloves at Costco this fall - they are the...

    Two bars

Had to run into work today in Indianapolis - I live about 10 miles north. Temps are around zero so I geared up and blasted in. All I saw was two bars on the temp gauge - Temp issues on this bike?? Not this time of year!!

Time to look at a FJR

I just went through this with my wife - FJR was at the top of the comfort list. Bags are a little smaller - but they don't cut into her calves. I will have to get a bigger window to increase the size of the "pocket" other than the the FJR is great.
