'03 top Box on the '07 Rack

I have the Yamaha '03 top Box, but would it fit the '07 Rack?

The Yamaha web site shows the Cerulean Silver Fits '04 FJR1300 and '06~'07 FJR1300AE (not for '05 models) 5JW-W0754-36-00

Silver Metallic Fits '03 FJR1300 5JW-W0754-00-00

Would the only difference be the Color?

Rear Trunk Attachment Kit required for installation:

For '03~'05 models - (5JW-W0720-00-00)

For '06~'07 models - (ABA-2D261-30-00)

The mounting kits have changed, but I think the trunk remains the same.

Yes, it fits. The mounting kit is very different and does NOT require drilling holes. :yahoo: :clapping:

I repainted my 05 blue Yami top box to a beautiful metallic silver, using Duplicolor paints. It matches the bike's silver parts exactly. Saved me $700 bucks!

The trunks are the same, but you will want the correct mounting kit for your bike. When I got my bike and top case they did not yet have the mounting kit/base available so I had to alter the 03-05 mount to work on my 06 bike. Only the colors on the top case are diffrent.

Thank you for the heads up on using my '03 top box on the my '07 FJR. I'll order the rack for the '07 and sell the '03 rack. Any interest?

Are the Duplicolor paints sold at most auto retail stores or are they special order? Should a clear coat be applied after I paint mine black cherry?
