What would DoG do?
Maybe you should take a proactive approach and sell it while it's still worth something.Seems that the dreaded "ticking" is going to be inevitable....if and when I get it....I'll be shopping for a new concourse.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...........
Over the past 500 miles my '05 (at 11750k miles) has developed an odd noise at idle when hot that seems to go away at higher RPM's. I was assuming that it was the begining of an exhaust leak at the header (maybe a bad gasket). Was going to check it out when I do my 12k oil change. Should I waste time and remove the header myself while checking this out and look for oil or should I wait and see if the noise gets more prominent as time passes?

Have no plans, Ric, for attending. I'm only about 3-1/2 to 4 hours away, so maybe I'll make it up for the day during the weekend to have a listen and share a brown ale with you guys.Ronman - Are you coming to WFO in Reno? There will be expert "ticker testers" taking sound samples to sort the Timex's from the Rolex's . . .
Really??? Shocking! :blink:The tick does not discriminate agaonst any oil. No oil will exempt the ticker from, well, ticking. Nor will breakin method or maintanence. If you have one you have one. Nothing you can do about it. There are no common factors to tie in why one ticks and the others don't.
:yahoo: :clapping: :yahoo: :clapping: :yahoo:I am happy to announce - I got my FJR out of the shop today!!!! :clapping: The first thing I noticed was . . . . quiet. The second thing I noticed was . . . more power.
The delay was not the fault of the dealer. Apparently in the Sacramento area there is only one machine shop that is highly regarded. Because they are so highly regarded they have a serious backlog of work to do. So, I will not be riding a Triumph to WFO after all.
