Yeah, that's what I was thinking too.

If it started losing power after a charge, it sounds like either the battery isn't retaining the charge or the starter is drawing too many amps. Perhaps, when the problem first reared it's head, the start circuit was drawing enough poser that there wasn't sufficient extra for the ignition circuit. That's just a guess...I am NOT an electrical person nor have I ever played on on stage or in a movie.

My money is on the former rather than the latter. You might try jumping it from a car battery.

I had a battery that acted like that. It held a good surface charge and looked good on the volt meter. I'm guessing that a good draw test will show it's done with its life cycle. For unknown reasons some just don't have longevity. Maybe one of the really smart and learned folks can explain it...the rest of us simply go by practical experience.

I just looked up my records. It is a Westco, close to three years old. I would expect a longer life than that.

And yes, it's a relief to be running. Not sure if a ride is in the cards for me today, it's a family holiday. But we'll see if she starts tomorrow without a jump, now that the system is blown out.

a stud so you can jump the scoot at will without having to take the plastic off. I did this earlier this year

when my battery started getting weak. Still have to replace the battery but that will come at a later time.

It's handy if you have to jump another bike or just need a reference voltage in some odd scenario. On top of

that you can always check your voltage with bike running without plastic removal.

BTW it now starts just fine off the battery, including cold this morning. For some reason it needed hella power to start after not running awhile. It's nice to be back on the Feejer.

I was about to pull all of my musical gear out til we had our little chat. It's the finer points that kept us together today. Y'all take note. The ex (we split 8 years ago in July) hit me up this morning to make her a 3 year loan of $15K for a newer Lexus SUV, while she is contemplating filing bankruptcy. Huh? And then she gives me some kind of attempted guilt based "friend in need" ****, as if I am the one in the wrong here. WTF?!? :huh:

That F'ing divorce decree there is constantly seeming more valuable. I thought we were friends, but maybe I'm gonna have to re-evaluate what that means to her. She needs a newer Lexus?

Ya think that if I was dumb enough to make that loan that THAT wouldn't start WW III with the current GF?!? Who is none too happy with me for unknown reasons (well, for being right about a few things). And then, tonight is the 1 year anniversary of the last GF going super ultra bat **** f'ing drunken crazy on my stone cold sober *** as I was about to get some sleep before riding to WCR on Vancouver Island.
