I got back from a run yesterday thinking I might want to move my bars to one of the other settings .. I like a straighter bar with less pull-back.

On loosening up one side I found I could not move the bar as the fork adjustment spring pre-load is in the way .. at the standard setting I cannot move the bars forward! Am I missing something or did Yamaha screw up?

I've never moved mine, but I know that you have to loosen up both sides and move them together, you can not move them one at a time. (so I've been told). Hope that helps.

Exactly correct - there is a plate below that has to be loose to move the bars. The bars sit on pins so they have to be lifted and set back down but the angle of the bars does not change.
