Is it just me or is there a completely different atmosphere here this September from the excitement in the air this time last year. Everybody was so anxious for the 06 to be released. It seemed there were questions and new threads about it daily right up to the point Yamaha opened the PDP up for business.

I'm not sure what's changed but I don't see the interest in a new year model at this time. Did I miss something?

Has Yamaha finally stopped torturing it's potential new owners by discontinuing the PDP program, or do I just need to play catch up over on Yama mama's web site to study what's new for 07.

Anyway, I'm excited about the 07s! (Ignorance is bliss). I was looking for more color options and a couple more electronic goodies available this year.

Somebody get me back on track. It's too quiet around here concerning next years bikes. I must have missed the bus ...the short bus.

My sig line is still showing the link for Yamaha test rides for 06. Somebody hit me! :yahoo: Well, actually now that I clicked on it I see the test ride calender goes way into 07. That's good!

Can only assume folks are out riding their new 06's and not posting. Seriously, 06 comprised a lot of changes for the FJR and that sparked most all the conversations. I doubt the 07's will have much different about them than the 06's and that is probably why people are not wearing their fingers down posting about it.

I'm dreaming of "Shift Red" and the addition of Yamaha "Electronic Cruise Control" ...but then look out for the price tag making it into BMW territory.

As others have posted in the past, Yamaha has a way of addressing major issues every 2 years rather than every year. I'd guess the subdued atmosphere is because few people expect more than a color change. Besides, as opposed to former FJR model years, the '06 doesn't have a whole host of problem areas IMHO.

Since the plastic is painted and a person has to order his FJR months ahead of time, why can't we pick from many available colors? I think Polaris has a similar program, and many options are available. WTF?

I just talked to a salesman at a Yamaha dealership in Salem OR, close to where I live. I wanted to put my $500 ASAP and get in line. He told me that Yamaha would start taking orders Dec. 1, and that the bikes would be delivered between April and June. I am new to all of this, so I don't know what to believe and what not. I was also told, that since they don't have to display the bikes, they would deal some on the price.

I'm very anxious to get information about the 2007 model. I already put down my $500 deposit on one and got it for $13300 out-the-door :) . My biggest wishes are choice of color, no increase in weight and no decrease in power.

I think you got decent information from you dealer about the process. 1) Yamaha accepts orders starting at a certain date (although it was October 1 in last year's. 2) You can negotiate a bit on price before the PDP. 3) There is a window that most bikes are received.

I would suggest reviewing a great website managed by a former FJR owner and bet he'd even do it for 2007 if an '07 orderer asks.

Spoke to the owner at my dealer and it appears the ordering will start on October 1st again this year. He said that all of the dealer will receive a Fed-Ex packet on the 1st with the details.

I did look at the website, lots of good information, hopefully it will apply to the 07s.

I have been riding motorcycles for 40 years, and this is the first time I had to order one. Makes me wonder if I will get one.

I believe the National dealer meeting is the end of this month... then the true details will come out.

My moneys on a Silver bike with Blue stipes... or vice versa. :D

I'm VERY excited!!! :clapping:

So much so that I've been working on GreyGoose's '06 just to practice for installing farkles on what I hope will be my new '07!

Is that excited enough for you??? :yahoo:

If you get a YDS Claim number you will get one. Heard of a couple cases where people without claim numbers got stiffed from less-than-scrupulous dealers, but never one from somebody with that little number. Unless Yamaha says otherwise in a formal statement I would treat '07 the same as '06....the same as '05, etc. Getting to be pretty standard operation.

I detect the need for a completely pointless poll. Just a minute.....it's here
