Are you kidding me? I really like the deep red, but what the heck is up with a silver tail AND red rack? Looks like the bike was crashed and parted together. I usually ride without the bags (unless I'm going overnight), and without the bags I its even more glaring. And just what I don't want, advertise I've got a rack instead of blending it in. I'd have to get the tail section painted red to match or buy an '06. Yamaha, great bike, but what were you thinking?

Another case of beuaty is in the eye of the beholder...I really like what they did to the rear of the 07, so , back at ya...

;)

Me too! And since they're all the same color they'd be easily interchangeable. You could always paint the tailpiece and the rack "flat black" or "silk black" to match the seat and rear tire. That would help them disappear and make your bike unique.

Another option is to go to the "Bin O' Facts" thread and find the color of the tail section, then paint the rack to match.

Its all about personalizing your scoot to your own specs, isn't it?

Well, I suppose some do like it. Usually I don't care too much, but that combo is just hideous and ruins the lines IMO, but I still love the bike.

Yucko:

Looks like another person gets to start their own motorcycle company and build whatever they want.

Yabbutt...rattle cans of Krylon are soooo much cheaper. And the R&D, including focus groups, is already done.

Graphically the way my '06 is painted with that "slash" of silver between blue ends looks like a butcher did it. I'd say they tried to correct the mishmash on the '07; still not gr8 but better than my '06. Just my humble opinion as an Industrial Designer who uses color to help things appear cohesive............DFO :yahoo:

Part of that design in a carryover from the first iterations. The '03 being entirely Liquid Silver, the pieces between the front fairing and the tail were left that color on the Cerulean '04s and Galaxy Blue '05s. I think Yamaha has kept the silver as an allusion the past models but extended it to the entire tailpiece.

It looks much better on the Cerulean "AE" models than the blue or red "A" where there is much more contrast (Read: "clash"!).

One could always paint the side and tail pieces to match the bike color, as slapnpop did when he repainted his bike.

At least its not chrome plated plastic a' la mid-60's bikes. :yahoo:

I think it looks like crap. I think you should trade me even up (I'll cover shipping) for my '04 that has a rack that matches the rest of the bike.

What's good for one, ain't good for another. It's all a matter of preference and.....why are you folks "arguing about it??

We're not arguing. At least, not that I'm aware of.

What's next? "Do these red panniers make my butt look big?"

If the panniers make the bike's butt look big, then the package would make the pillion's look small...yes?
