08' less than 3K stalls in traffic

just bought a used 08' with less than 3k. is in very good condition but was neglected by previous owner.

after changing the oil with Rotella Syn, I took it out for a ride. As I pulled up to a light, I disengaged the clutch at around 20-30 MPH and the engine stalls. It started right back up with a single push of the button, but is disconcerting.

a short while later and at a full stop, I tried to rev the engine abruptly and the engine stalled again. again, it started right back up.

I asked the previous owner if he had the ignigtion recall performed, but he never answered. is the above narrative common symptons of the problems associated with the ignition recall???

would appreicate input. thanks...

your idle is probably set too low, should be 1100rpm,

If the ignition recall was performed by a Yamaha dealer, they should have put punch mark on the VIN plate, so you could check that. But I agree it sounds like the idle is set too low.

My bike stalled a couple of times when bliping the throttle while down shifting. As Fairlaner said I set the idle to 1100 rpm and problem solved.
