OK,
I got my new Russell and it's time to show it off...

Description: Dual Seat, All Vinyl, Graphite Black, Rectangle Design.

Both my wife & myself love it, now ready for some long trips.

Note: I have a Corbin Seat for sale, check (for sale) classified section.

Rummy
NICE! Now I know what mine will sort of look like too except I got the black-black and a backrest but otherwise same pattern and same material. Good luck with that seat.

Ok I am VERY interested. but never have done a group buy, how does it work? I ride my bike year round and will have to find another seat pan 1st.

Don't worry. You'll have lots of time to find that seat pan as this GB is way over. But no doubt there will be another in late fall of '09. It seems to be a recurring theme.

WooHoo - mine arrived today from my build date of 12/16 and five days shipping from CA to PA. Looks great and fits great but that's all I can say right now as it's 27 degrees outside and I can't won't test it.

I should phone Heather on Monday and make sure all the paper work is OK

My build date was 12/30 and it only got there the 30th.

I know I won't need it for a little while. Something about that white stuff on the ground.

Did you call Heather? I also had a build date of 12-30 and have not heard anything yet. Still doing the other upgrades so no rush, but getting close to getting the bike back together, and could need the seat by this weekend....let me know if you heard anything...

Here is a small update. My seat arrived today in the mail. It got shipped last thursday (Jan 8th). I didn't get around to calling because I was waiting for them to open when I got my seat in the mail. (I'm in the eastern time zone and they are in Pacific) I may have a little more to tell when I call Heather. I do want to touch base with her.

Had a build date of 12/17, and mine arrived last weekend. Now if my bike was put back together I might actually be able to sit on it to see if all the money was worth it.

yeah. this gb was closed months ago. keep an eye open for word of the next one around october - november of 2009.

Got mine back last week and first ride today. Very comfortable,( I also got the backrest), although only a short 20 mile ride. It's also noticeably taller than stock. Not an issue, as I'm tall enough to still flat foot it, but might be a problem for a shorter person.

Jack.

I had a 12-30 production date, seat shipped back to me on 1-12. Just now getting the bike together after the CC install and extra lights, and Garauld's rack and back rest (awesome stuff there). Did a little short test ride on the cruise, it worked great, now need to run about 1000 miles to break in the seat. Think we need to run down to the Shed in Ocean Springs for some BBQ when it warms up.. Here's the seat...

And kudo's to Whataboutbob for getting this group buy going, THANKS!!!

With a build date of 1/15 I received my seat on 1/27. The seat looks great! I sat on it - it felt fine. I took it for a ride. My first thought was that I would need to get it adjusted; I tended to slid back on it. However, last weekend (which I turned into a 3 day weekend) I put 1,200 miles on it with simply amazing results: The contact between it and me is so constant/consistent that I almost can't feel it. And once I let myself slide back"into" it, it was easier to keep my weight off of my arms, a problem that I've always fought, coming from the upright seating arrangement of a Gold Wing. I'm a happy camper! :thumbsupsmiley:

I need one!

Ha ha... no!! The group buys happen during their (Russell's) slower winter months. Which works out well for those of us in the snow bound states too. Watch for another one late next fall / winter. Or if you really need one, just pay the full price. Believe me, it's worth the price.
