Great Steve, now I'll just let you do my tire changes.

Solid lifters are so easy, but still, I don't miss doing them every couple of months or so.

You know, for a while I thought yeah, change my own Feejur tires. Then reality kicked my arse with the realisation that this wasn't a tubeless tire on a pretty aluminum wheel.

Right, time for a quick update. Been riding to work once or twice a week while the weather is kind. Still no word on the Orlando Ace Cafegrand opening which I plan to attend on the Matchless, hopefully. Emailed them bout 3 weeks ago and someone replied that they would be intouch.......not yet they haven't.

Bike is running well. Changed all the oils, slowed down some leaks and seem to have aquired new ones......they all do that sir! Made a couple of updates as shown below.

Turn signal kit fitted

Remote spin on oil filter and extended plumbing...all mod cons!!

New air filter element with modified truck hose from Advance motors

Not bad.......whaddaya reckon??

Here she is on the car dolly. Just changed the front tire and this means I could manouver her about when the wheel was off.

Still a few jobs to attend to. To save rushing ahead every weekend trying to finish them and other stuff too, to allow me to work in the garage in the heat of summer, I've installed a window mounted a/c unit and just got extra led lighting to install too.

Enjoying working on something relatively simple and basic.

Nice! That is a good looking bike.

Doesn't really look like you need to do any cosmetic restoration. Looks nice in the pictures.

While I recognise you're making it a ride for modern conditions, there's something a little sad about adding turn indicators.

At least you can't stop it leaving its spore where you park it, like the old Brit Iron it is

Thanks Dan. It isn't quite as pristine as it looks in the pics.....but I'm happy at the moment!! Hope to ride out on one of our shorter RTE's one day!

Mac....yes I agree but unfortunately as you say, it's a reflection on what has to be done to have any chance of surviving general driving standards here, I'm sure many will agree. Same for you, probably.

I was careful though, to ensure that no original detail was altered irrevocably in the making of this update . And yes, seed is planted at every stop.

Hi all,

Couple more pics to update. Rode out to meet with Vic, Jim, Tim and Ken for some BBQ as reported in Southeast RTE earlier. Didn't ask them to include me in the actual ride, I mean, who wants to be stuck in first gear keeping up with me??!!

Had a good time with them and the short ride, longest for me and Matchy, was trouble free and very enjoyable.

Oh forgot, gps and GoPro let me down en route, so much for modern technology!

Other pic is showing off the shiny new exhaust just installed at the weekend, along with a replacement ammeter in the headlamp shell, obviously out of sight.

Still having fun.

Steve

Probably the case with the gps. It was ok for a while, then started switching off and re booting.

The handlebar clamp broke on the GoPro!
