I was riding today with a 2003 1300, we stopped at a stop light and it just died. just like you turned the key off

battery is good and we could not find any blown fuses

when you turn the key on no lights no nothing, (but) when you turned the key off the gauge needles would sweep to max and then fall back. flashers would not flash it was like there was 100% no power

400 tow and it is now at the dealer. Just thought I would see what thought you have

Ignition switch.

Although the '03 switches did not get recalled....I've known several fail over time. Try wiggling the harness below the key and see if you get some response.

Or maybe a loose battery terminal.

Check your battery leads first. All you have to do is take off a couple pieces of fairing. I had loose leads kill my '05 a couple times until I made the threads tighter using teflon tape. IIRC, both times had some cut outs / intermittent issues / gauge sweeps en route to total failure.
