My FJR just started having windshield retraction (and extension) problems. Once the screen is all the way up or down, it will not go the other direction. The drive motor and jackscrew will spin correctly, but the screen will not move (but it does make a heck of a racket). It appears that the carrier's threaded section has become stripped. If I manually 'help' the screen, I can get it to move correctly. And in the middle postions, there is no problem going up or down - only when the carrier is at a limit; either up or down. I guess I will be looking for a new drive motor, but all I think I really need is the threaded carrier. Anybody know where to get just this part? Since a complete new drive unit is very spendy, does anyone know of a 2003-2005 FJR that is being parted out? Thanks for your help.
