Hello,

I came back from a ride yesterday and managed to leave my ignition turned on. Came back a little over an hour later, saw the key on and the instrument panel dead. Assumed a dead battery, so I threw it on the tender and still nothing.

Took off the right panel, checked the main fuse and it's good. Haynes manual shows the fuse box to the rear of the battery, but it's not there and I can't for the life of me seem to locate it.

I see that the ignition switch is a known issue, and I'm hoping that isn't the case. I suppose the first step would be to locate the fuse box and check there. Can anyone point me in the right direction and offer any other suggestions?

Thanks!

Quite often, a tender will not restore a battery if the voltage is below a certain amount. Sometimes you have to use a "dumb" charger to get the voltage up a bit. I use a 1 amp "trickle" charger if I had an OOPS moment and left something on. Just don't hit it with a dumb car charger that might try to feed it 10 amps - not good for the battery. 1-2 amp charge rate is ideal.

If ignition switch, you might get intermittent connection if you wiggle the key. Before fussing with the ignition switch, try it again with a known good battery - either get yours charged or jump with another battery.

Not sure but I think the fuse block is on the other side of the bike under the black panel. that's where it was on my 03.

Do you think I'd at least get the instrument panel on though?
