What am I missing here?

Granted the price is a little steep, but for an essentiallly brand new Gen One!?

If I could grab this for 8.5 it'd be a steal. Not a huge Gen One fan but would love to have a like new in this condition.

I guess I'm the ***** he's looking for. Good thing I ain't got but 4 cents to my name.

Mark

Seems like a pretty good opportunity for a die-hard Gen I guy for somewhat less that he is asking. Need the whole story on the bike first though.

Ended. Thought it was odd that he would ship to the US and it's located in Nevada ....

Shipping: Will ship to United States. Read item description or for shipping options.

Item location: Henderson, Nevada, United States

Maybe he meant that he will ship it to locations in the U.S., but not outside? But that's too logical, given the illogical asking price.

It is possible for someone to advertise things for sale that he doesn't actually have, then buy it and resell it if someone meets his extremely high price. I'm not saying that that is what is happening here, but it is possible.

Was the oil changed ever year whether it needed it or not? NO! Coolant? Fork oil?

I know I'm in the minority but I would never consider any vehicle with abnormally low miles. High mileage vehicles are way more likely to be well maintained; hence the reason they made the high miles. I like low mileage when it comes to houses(or wine), cause they weren't built to be driven. But motors were built to run. Sitting for 10 years has not done that motor any favors.

Years ago, and totally against my advice, a female cousin found an old Camry that an old couple had owned as a second car. Ridiculously low mileage and looked really clean. She bought it. One problem after another until she got rear-ended and car totaled. Got a NEW Camry and no problems since.

FYI; the Bike has been relisted.

Even if you knock the price down some, depreciation would be brutal for anyone who buys and rides it. The only way it works is as a low mileage novelty. Great bikes, but there isn't anything rare or collectible about our FJRs.

He re-listed the bike at the same price.

What you're missing Bokerfork is that it needs a full service, all fluids and the fork seals are probably shot from sitting in one spot for years, not to mention the tires are hard and probably suck and yeah, it may actually be a ticker too, which might be a bit of a process for good will repair on a 9 year old bike, low miles or not.

The guy is a re-seller. No doubt he paid a song for the bike and wants to double his money.

That won't be moving any time soon. In about 9 more years he may drop the opening bid price to $6,999!!

I agree with another post to be cautious. Bikes that old with less than 1K miles may have issues when you really start using them like they were built for.

I wonder how gummed up the fuel system is, having run through fewer than two tanks of gas in nearly ten years.

All the hate. I would buy this bike for $5800 which is its fair market price. I'd like it better under $5K like most 2005 FJRs. This bike has no warranty or even any upgrades that justify the dealer-like price. Delusional. Buyers are smart, and this will not sell.

The blue color is 2005,Cerulean Silver 2004. They started to manufacture the 2004's in 2003. I actually picked up my 2004 in November 2003.
