A google search got me no where. Are the plastic colored side case covers replaceable? If so where can I purchase them? My right case has some deep scratches in it from being dropped by one of the previous owners and I would like to replace it. They appear they can be pulled off to change the color but I'm not 100% sure about that.

Let me know if you know.

Thanks!

They can be removed, but I don't think you can buy them separately. Check out forum member 'garauld' to see if he can fix it/paint it for you. Haven't used him personally, but I've seen a LOT of positive feedback here from others.

Supposedly, the lids can be taken off and replaced, but it is a pain in the butt. The cases are not designed for that even though they probably should be.

As Scott said, your best bet is to PM Gerauld and send your case off to him. I haven't had him paint anything either, but everyone that has sent something to him has had nothing but good things to say about his quality of work. I'm thinking of sending my right side bag too.

FWIW, these bags are crazy expensive unless you get a good deal on a set of used ones.

The case covers are not a available separately. It is common to drill out the rivets and send the covers out for repair/paint. As previously mentioned, fellow Forumite garauld does excellent repair and paint work. I have had him do some repair and paint work.

Edit: Cross post with 'zilla, both posts hit simultaneously.

And he only wants the lids, not the whole case, and will send you hardware back with it to reinstall the lid.

He'll probably tell you that when you PM him to inquire.

My cover fell off my case the other day. What a fiasco that was. The hinges mount on the panel while the latches are on th inner ppiece.

Over here most car panel suppliers can supply paint to match. And a fraction of the cost. I had my side cases done just before Christmas. Bought them Silver but needed Cerulean because of the blue tinge. Cost me £15 all in. And there was loads of paint left for touch ups etc. Maybe worth a try.
