Best color ever offered! I'm going to miss it. (That's assuming it ever sells.) The gray of the '15 is, well...gray. The lettering was custom painted here in Des Moines. Got the same and a bit more done on the '15.

I have no doubt that only 50 percent - probably less - of this bike's life has been used up, and you're offering it at close to 25-30 percent of retail. Trouble is, only knowledgeable FJR folks will realize this (maybe a few 'Wingers). Given that, your price should be very attractive...to those who understand. Most "typical" riders think 30,000 miles is a LOT, especially in the H-D tribe. Looking at the for sale ads on CL, there are many H-Ds - and other makes, including pure sport bikes - that have 500 miles per year on them. That's a shame, but it negatively impacts resale value on higher mileage bikes. There are also ample examples of low-miles FJRs, albeit at substantially higher prices. There was a discussion here not long ago regarding an FJR for sale with, I think, just short of 200,000 miles on it. The wisdom was that it was probably worth more parting out. I was lucky: I sold my second FJR in February, an '05 with 56K on the clock, to a Valkyrie rider who has over 100K on his, so he understood what was left in my '05. Doing the math: a rider buys this for $3,850, puts 10K a year on it and owns it 10 years, that's just $385 per year! Can't beat that! Owning my three Gen I FJRS has cost me $1,050/ year. If anyone out there is looking for an excellent s-t and who is on a very tight budget, this is the bike for them. Good luck!

Agree whole-heartedly Big Sky. RossKean's thread covers that pretty well. I lack the time/space/patience to part it out and besides, that seems like IS selling off a loved one, piece-by-piece! But the market is what the market is. As soon as she finds a home, especially if it's with a non-FJR rider, I'm sure the FJR community will have another convert.

Craig, I'd buy it for a spare to mine but I most likely won't live long enough to wear it out as I only have 86,000 on it now.

On the way home from Spearfish I hit a rock that bent both rims. I was able to ride it home the last thousand miles. The front was fixed and the rear cracked while trying. Now I only have a spare front but I have a line on another rear thou.

I'm ready for some more of that Hwy 85! I'll follow you this time!

I just had to basically give away a 2006. You know what I'm sick of hearing on a bike like the FJR... "If only you were closer." Seriously...? Especially when I offer to drive - quite literally - halfway across the country. I just didn't have time to sit on it for the next 6 months, nor could I afford to. Buyer got what I think is a $**!&)*!ING kick *** deal, and he's already said he's going to flip it. Good for him, bad for me, but whatever. On to the next piece of frustration.
