Unfortunately they stopped coming to Atlanta , which I found odd as it was packed the last 2 years I went .. go figure

Does anyone know if Yamaha will be giving demo rides in Dallas this year? They had one FJR at Houston last year, but it booked up for the whole day by 830am, I missed riding it by one slot :( .

The family CFO has approved a new bike for Q1CY10 and I'm very interested in an FJR. I am not going to buy a bike unless I get at least a short ride on one, so I'm hoping I can do that in November.

If not I'll travel to one of the places that rents them, I think there is a place in Dallas that does that.

Over the years I've been to the shows in NYC, Philly, Wash-DC, St Louis and Cleveland.

I've always felt that Cleveland's was the best of that bunch.

As my oldest boy is riding now, we'll probably make the trip up this year.

I usually do the show on Friday night and then go sightseeing on Saturday.

We'll see how things work out and let you know.

Why the hell can't they have a show in the Northeast during the summer!!!!

I hear ya!

**** the last two I went to I drove through an ice storm once, an a fookin Blizzard the next.

Kinda had to test drive in that ****!

Oh, an bite me arse ya Kali boys! (you too Howie!) I don't wanna ride that bad

:****:

:jester:

I see they are not coming to Phoenix this year after being here for many. No big loss. I don't thing I would have gone this year.

Perhaps it is better in other cities, but it was a waste of time and money in Phoenix last year. Definitely worse than several years ago.

Still, I'll miss the demos.

Dallas show is starting tomorrow; no Houston show this year.

Wife and I are riding up to Big D for the weekend. Picked up the tickets online saved few extra bucks using a coupon code....darn things actually work.

Looking forward to the ride out tomorrow, it's gonna be a beautiful weekend in Texas...

I'll be looking for some FJR's when we get there.

I plan on going so I can check out the new VFR. :secret:

Don't tell anyone around here.
Hmm... Woulda liked to have gone to the '09 show. We just may make it up there for the '10 show. I'll have a better idear when we get closer to the show.

Side note: The missus and I are going up this weekend to the IX Center for the Fabulous Food Show. It's gonna be a weekend of lots of food, a wine & beer tasting (or 6), and more food. Mmm...

I don't know about that, but I can tell you from my experiance at Daytona bikeweek doing demos that you need to be in the demo line 30 minutes (or better if the weather is good) BEFORE they open. Makes it hard to demo more than one brand a day, or at least 1 brand of desirable motorcycle within the line.

This year I demo'd an A and meant to do an AE as well (you can sign up for 2 at the same time at Yamaha), but did a VMax instead for the 2nd bike just because...

I had wanted to do a Connie 14 but never did make it over there in time on any day I could get there early.

On the show; It looks like I can make the Greenville, SC show, running the plans by the little woman now... Anyone looking at that one?

I went to the Houston show last year, and got to demo 10 rides on Saturday...the trick was to hit the popular tents first, secure a time slot, then hit the less popular tents with the shortest lines and ride. Getting there early and staying late are also a must!

I'll be going to the Cleveland show - anyone else?
Hey Shawn...let me know when you plan on being in Cleveland, we'll have to get together for a beer or two
We'll drive in on Friday evening, see the show Saturday and leave Saturday evening....

Interesting - why is that? I've been to show in Atlanta (lame) and NYC. Why do you think Cleveland's is so good?

Why the hell can't they have a show in the Northeast during the summer!!!!
Because everyone is out riding....And everyone has already bought their gear for the season....
