I'm in! Just booked my room. :yahoo:
Stephen, you have been added to the list.

PLEASE NOTE: Recreate informed me of the following current hot information "At this point in time there is only 1 room left at the SW-FOG 2010 Group Rate; smoking with a king bed!

I'll call Big-D as soon as I sign off and see if we can persuade Cheryl Webster of Best Western Kachina Lodge to release some more rooms to us; unless we have fully booked Kachina!

WOW....... 38 riders so far and I believe at least 2 pillions that ride their own bike, possibly brings our total riders to 40 and add about 12 additional pillions brings our little SW-FOG to as many as 52. And we still have plenty of time for more to decide to attend. :yahoo: :clapping: :yahoo: :clapping: :yahoo: :clapping:

Spoke to BeemerDon tonight about our situation concerning enough rooms at the discounted rate. I will call Cheryl first thing in the morning to see what the problems is and what needs to be done to remedy the situation. I will post up what I find out immediately afterward. Unless the hotel is totally booked, I would think there shouldn't be a problem.

Dan

Even IF the Kachina Lodge is full, Taos is not that big and there are well priced hotels really close by. I kind of doubt that the hotel will fill up, but if it does, there are options.

https://www.fjrforum.com/forum//index.php?s...=131781&hl= Muchachos, Big-D has ridden to the rescue and has gotten Cheryl to open up many more rooms at the same low rates!!!
BUMP REMINDER: SW-FOG 2010 is just 4 weeks away from today. Thanks to Big-D there are still plenty of rooms at great rates. PLEASE mention SW-FOG when you reserve a room.

Just so you know, I informed Cheryl that I'll be eating dinner with you guys but I'll be staying elsewhere in Taos during that time...I'll have a "taxi" back and forth from the hotel.

If anyone is comming in earlier in the week and wants to ride, pm me and I can pull any day after 2:00.

BUMP REMINDER: SW-FOG 2010 - THE TOO BROKE/TOO FAR FOR NAFO RALLY! 3 weeks from today SW-FOG starts in the beautiful setting of Taos, New Mexico. Incredible FJR motorcycle riding territory!

Big-D has secured the best room rates possible and a banquet dinner for only $18.83. Still plenty of rooms left by calling Cheryl at Kachina Lodge. Toll Free: 1-800-522-4462 Direct: 1-575-758-2275

Absolutely NO registration fees and weather is gorgeous there in September! No cutoff dates, if there are still rooms, you are "In Like Flynn"! Questions for Chuy: 480-440-4666 or [email protected]

https://www.weather.com/weather/monthly/USNM0314?month=1 Here is what you can expect for SW-FOG 2010 weather wise, a high of 75F and a low of 45F degrees. Also, please do bring your rain gear, lightweight is the best. Every afternoon in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, you can expect a light thunderstorm between 1500 and 1700 hours; it's almost like clockwork at those high altitudes!

Ok. I got tired of seeing all the fun you guys are having and have made reservations. Looking foward to meeting everyone. I've made it to SFO the last three years. It will be fun to do something a little different. Haven't been to Taos in a few years either, so that will be nice too. When making reservations Cheryl said they wouldn't worry about paying for the Saturday night dinner until check in (FYI) Put me on the attendee list. :drinks:

Just to tack onto what Don said: Be prepared for just about any weather. The days should be beautiful, but if it gets cloudy and tries to rain, it will get cold fast. We're talking about going from 95 degrees parked, to 50-55 moving and up in the elevation. Bring raing gear and something to block the cold. I'll probably wear my Transition II without the liner, but my raingear and a hoody in my bag. You never know around here. The other day it was raining with the sun out...Again.

FYI, I just got off the phone with Cheyl Webster to pay for 2 more dinners and she said to wait and pay when we check in Thursday so she could a more accurate head count.

A friend of mine, Jack Kennedy from Tulsa,Ok made reservations and will ride over with me. He is not a member of the Forum.

I'm calling in the morning to make my reservation. Hopefully there will still be rooms available. If not, I'm perfectly comfortable in a tent.

Wow, the list keeps growing. Soon we will own that town! Yamaha's everywhere, more farkles than Taos has ever seen. I checked the sky charts and the planets will align for perfect FJR conditions.

OK enough hype but I am soooo ready to hit the road. Two weeks from tonight and I'll be in Utah - oh yeah.

NOTE: Roster has been amended to include the newest Tejanos and Okies. Getting a nice FJR showing from Oklahoma and Texas! Remember to watch your wallets around these guys!

OFF TOPIC: Old Arizonan joke about Texas and Oklahoma - "You know what a Texas and Oklahoma gasoline credit card looks like, a clear piece of 5/8" plastic tubing about 3' long"!
